Earlier this month I was asked to go on a dinner cruise with Fish Bar at North River Landing. I’ve never done a dinner cruise before and had the best time. It was such a fun experience and a unique way to take in the NYC skyline.
We boarded the ship right as the sun started to set and then sat on the upper deck watching the sky until we pulled away from the dock. The atmosphere was seriously fun. I’ve always loved being on a boat; I’ve found them relaxing even since I was a baby. Sitting out on the deck watching the sky light up orange, then pink, and finally purple I could feel the day’s stress melting away!
Since this was my first ever dinner cruise, I wasn’t sure how the whole thing worked. It ended up being fancy and low-key in the best possible ways. We ordered everything, right down the dessert, at the beginning and then paced the dinner with our server so we could break and go outside every now and again.
Garrett and I are obsessed with calamari and order it pretty much every meal. Fish Bar‘s was delicious and the perfect way to kick off our dinner.
The NYC skyline always gets me; it’s even more spectacular at night!!
I loved that we had great views even from the table and they were constantly changing as we cruised down the Hudson. Seeing the Statue of Liberty all lit up was a major highlight.
The dessert was delicious. We wrapped up the meal just before we pulled back into the dock and I was tempted to ask them to send the boat back out for another spin (and for another round of this chocolate cake). Check out the whole menu here.
The Fish Bar would be great for a date night, tourists wanting to see the city in a unique way, dinner with coworkers, or a girls’ night out.
Thank you, New York Cruise Lines for sponsoring this post. Check out the whole menu and sailing times here.
Wow thanks looks amazing! I went on a dinner cruise once for a company dinner and it was not good at all! I’m so glad you had a wonderful time, and I’ll have to keep this one saved for next time I’m in NY!

I went on a more casual version of a dinner cruise with North River Lobster Co.! They had the BEST Lobster Rolls and the views of the city were amazing. I would love to try a night time dinner cruise like you went on – it looks divine!

What an awesome opportunity! My husband and I have always wanted to do a dinner cruise (we’ve been on many vacations where they’re offered) but I’ve always been hesitant…we may take the plunge on our next vacay!
