WHY I LOVE SHUTTERFLY PHOTOBOOKS

One of my goals as a mom is to make sure we’re not only making memories as a family, but that we’re also staying on top of capturing the memories, too. I love taking photos of my family, both big special moments (like vacations) and also the everyday moments (like the boys playing together in the nursery). Over the years, I have accumulated so. many. photos. My memory cards and camera roll are both filled with these little moments! It would be such a shame if they never saw the light of day. My parents were always really great about lugging out a camera to take tons of photos and as a result, we have albums and albums of the photos that we love to flip through.

I want my boys to be able to look at all these photos throughout the years and there is no better way to do this than to create photobooks with Shutterfly. I’ve started doing this for Jack and it’s become a tradition of sorts to make one after every big trip. I include all kinds of photos– big group shots, pictures of the food we ate, places we visited, funny captures from my iPhone, and the precious moments taken with my big camera too.

Making photobooks with Shutterfly is so, so easy. One thing that I really love is that you can truly customize the book as much, or as little, as you want. You can sit down and spend time writing out captions and long-form stories to accompany each photo or you could just simply upload photos. They’re your memories and you can document them however you want!

Start by choosing a blank book to customize on your own or choosing one of the fun templates– like Simply Modern Photobook, Travel Gallery Photobook, or Colorful Childhood. Upload all the photos you want to include from your computer or phone and it’s as simple as dragging and dropping the images into the digital designs. Choose different layouts to capture your vibe, add creative elements for a unique touch, and tell the story of your memories to truly make the book yours.

Shutterfly even offers a 24-Hour Free Design Service if you’d rather an expert help you put together your photobook.

A photobook with photos from a family vacation!

I love how fun the books are to make and display. (Though even when I put them out in our living room, they almost always end up in the boys’ nursery for bedtime stories at Jack’s request 😉)

When I ordered our last photobook, I also took it as an opportunity to stock up on some grandparent gifts and personal stationery from Shutterfly. The mugs are such a “classic” gift and I know my parents and my in-laws’ all love the mugs we’ve gifted over the years. I had to make a mug with photos of Rory to add to their collection so he wasn’t left out and then another one with some of my favorite photos of the cousins, too.

I got my mother in law this easel back canvas for her birthday and sticky notes and a notepad for our family!
