TRANSITIONAL FALL STYLE

Transitional dressing in between seasons can be tricky. I’ve found that having a few key pieces in rotation makes it easy to build a wardrobe that works for those in-between days. If you know me, you know I love a good cardigan sweater. This collared cable-knit cardigan looks so cozy. It’s chunky and warm, but the collar makes it feel a little more elevated and put-together, and it just adds that perfect fall touch without feeling too heavy. It’s the kind of sweater you’ll reach for again and again and can be thrown on over everything from dresses to tees.

For those of you who love dresses as much as I do, this popover shirtdress is such a good transitional piece! The print is this gorgeous, vintage-inspired pattern that feels fresh but timeless at the same time and would be a great workwear piece. As it gets cooler, style with knee high boots and throw on a cardigan sweater or layer with a barn jacket. Barn jackets are great for those early fall mornings when it’s a little chilly but still too warm for a full-on coat. They’re perfectly practical and look just as good with a pair of jeans and sneakers as they do with a dress and boots.

And let’s not forget about shoes. I’ve been wearing my silver Mary Janes a lot lately, and love that they add a little something special to every outfit. If you’re looking for a fun statement flat for fall, I have my eye on this pair. The burgundy color is so good—it feels like fall in a shoe, and the square toe adds just the right amount of polish.
