We had a cozy week at home. Lots of baking (I have been having so much fun with sourdough) and gearing up for spooky season. Jack understands what Halloween is now, so it’s been extra fun. His class did a neighborhood walk to go see some Halloween decorations in town and it’s all he’s been able to talk about. I pulled out all the Halloween books we have (would love more recommendations!) and we have plans to go get some pumpkins for our porch. It’s our town’s big fall festival tomorrow and then apple picking on Sunday, too! Lots of family fun.
Here’s what has been on my radar this week:
ONE // Ways to Help Western North Carolina
The destruction from Hurricane Helene has been devastating. Watching the videos coming out of the aftermath has been absolutely horrifying. I cannot begin to imagine. There are so many organizations right now offering help– it can be difficult to know what to do. If you have friends or family in surrounding areas, I know there are collections happening through organizations/church groups who are driving supplies into the area directly. And here is a list of local organizations accepting donations as well.
TWO // Nutcracker/Toy Soldier Sweaters
Since finishing Rory’s stocking (which features the cutest toy soldiers), I have been all about the motif for this upcoming holiday season. I can’t be stopped! Especially after I saw that Boden launched the sweetest “fair isle” sweaters for mom and kids and babies. Sign. Me. Up. I know I won’t get too many years of being able to match with my boys, so I will live it up while I can.
THREE // Cornflake Crispies
Anyone else love rice crispy treats? I forgot how much I love them until I ate one recently at Jack’s back to school night… and then I saw this recipe for little cornflake crispies. They look delicious and dipped into chocolate sprinkled with some sea salt?! Talk about an elevated treat.
FOUR // Bow Ceramic Catchall
I’m loving these gorgeous bow ceramic catchall trays. With the tiny touch of personalization, they also would make a fantastic gift. I was thinking they’d be great to gift to girlfriends for the holidays (too soon?! 🤪). I love both sizes, too. Oh and there are napkins and appetizer plates with the same print!
FIVE // Velvet Bow Claw Clips
These are gorgeous hair clips with velvet bows. Kind of perfect for throwing your hair up and feeling festive and cute with minimal effort. (And that is a win!)
Sounds like such a festive fall weekend!
Have fun!

We love ‘The Ghosts Went Floating’ by Kim Norman. It’s a sing-a-long book and I like that it introduces all the characters of Halloween (ghost, skeleton, witch, goblin, ghoul, etc.) but the pictures aren’t scary.
