I finally figured out the whole “friend” thing during my last semester. (Go figure, right?)
I had a difficult time my senior year of high school with one particular friend. It was a horrible experience, but as with all bad experiences, it turned into a great learning opportunity. I truly learned what a real friend is and what a friend is not. As a result, I grew even closer with some of my BEST friends. After this recent trip, I know that the friendships I’ve made are not fleeting ones. They are lifelong friendships!
As I announced a couple of months ago, my best friend is getting married!!! It’s so unbelievably crazy, but we are all so excited for her. (Considering none of us even have serious boyfriends, we’re living vicariously through her!)
We decided to throw her a (super early… they’re not getting married until the end of the year) bachelorette party! She’ll obviously have a real party with her bridesmaids, but we wanted something special with just our high school friends.
It was SO much fun. I think above everything else, I realized just how much I love all of them! And I realized how great it is that we can go our separate ways (we all go/went to different universities), but get together and pick things up right where we left off.
(I couldn’t open my eyes in the sun so I missed the cue to jump!)
You should have seen the hotel rooms between the eight of us girls…. Vera Bradley and Longchamp overload.
We drove over to Orlando and stayed in the Peabody. A couple of the girls got to Orlando early and decorated the room with all sorts of bachelorette things!
After spending the afternoon at the pool, we all went out to dinner at Universal.
Then we went to see Blue Man Group! I’ve never seen it before, but it was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!! One of the girls got pulled up on stage and I was laughing so hard the entire time.
Do you have friends that you know you’ll be friends with for the rest of your life???
xoxo
This looks so fun! My best friend is planning a wedding following graduation and I can't wait to plan fun surprises like this for her 🙂
You are all adorable! It's fabulous to have lifetime friends.
Great post Carly! I am going to one of my best friends weddings this weekend… it's crazy to think about being old enough for marriage. 🙂
Looks like such a fun weekend! My best friend is getting married in April and I can't wait for her bachelorette party.
I'm the same way with my high school friends. I have some good friends from college, but I never really found a group that "got" me like I did in high school. It's neat to know that my high school friends knew me when I was awkward and silly…and still like me anyways!
the photo of all the vera bradley and longchamp bags makes me laugh…that's exactly what a carful of my friends would look like too! glad you had fun 🙂

Looks like so much fun! I can't wait till my friends and I start getting married and hold parties for each other. I'm the opposite of you: I didn't find any friends who really "got" me in high school, but I feel like the people I've met in college will be friends with me for the rest of my life.

I've been best friends with my childhood bestie since nearly birth. That's a little more than 33 years to be exact. I am the Godmother to her two children and we are still just like sisters.

Whoa, congrats to her! Looks like a fabulous time!
It's so weird to see one of my college best friends (Juli) on here! I am so jealous that you guys got to spend the weekend together! It sounded like so much fun. It's such a small world…
haha Vera Bradley duffels are ALWAYS present at my girls weekends!
Looks like so much fun! As for friendships I feel that will last a lifetime, I'm lucky enough to be able to say I think I've found a handful. Glad to see you have as well!
