I can’t begin to tell y’all how amazing it is to be home! I just love not having classes or homework or crew practice…
I was looking forward to warm and sunny weather after all the rain DC had this spring, but it seems like I have brought the rain down south! Florida has literally been in a drought, and then I come home and it’s been raining EVERY day! After Soccer Dad told me that my pale legs looked sickly and unhealthy, I decided to lay out by the pool on Sunday. In an attempt to get a little color, I opted for SPF 30 instead of the usual 70; I did use 55 on my face though. Well lovelies, I turned into a lobster. I am just completely fried. Yuck.
I posted a few months ago about my lost voice and sore throat. Well, I haven’t exactly gotten over it… My voice is not 100% and I have frequent sore throats. Soccer Mom took me to a ENT doctor. He threaded a camera down my nose into my throat. It was awful. I just kept thinking about those men who feed a snake through nose for money. Yuck.
Enough ‘Yucks’… here’s some YUMS! I’ve been cooking up a storm this week!
Sunday: “Soccer Player Cookies”
A sweet variation on the classic chocolate chip cookie. Made with oatmeal, grapenuts, and dark chocolate. Family favorite (and Sporty Sister’s friends are obsessed too, hence the name!)
Mmm… Diced strawberries!
Monday: “Strawberry Shortcake Cookies”
Delicious adaptation on the timeless strawberry shortcake. The cookie is extremely tender and moist. Can’t eat just one! (From Martha Stewart Living)
Tuesday: “Shortcake Biscuits”
Inspired by the cookies, I decided to make traditional shortcake biscuits. Downright divine!
