With summer just around the corner, I’ve been busy scouring the internet for books to add to my TBR pile! 📚 Maybe you’re on the hunt for some new reads too? I went through the books I’ve read so far this year to highlight some of my favorites. (You can see all the books I’ve read in 2025, and previous years, in my Highlights.) These might not all be ~beach reads~, but if you’re the type to pack a REALLY good book (or two…) for a trip, I’ve got you covered.
I’ve broken my recommendations into three categories:
1. Novels that are a bit more readable (though not necessarily “easy”!).
2. Novels that go a little deeper and make you think.
3. Non-fiction picks to really sink your teeth into.

Can anyone really understand what they’re signing up for when they become a mother? Your body changes. Your brain rewires. Your priorities shift. It’s a love you can only begin to imagine, and then, somehow, it’s even harder to describe. The weight of responsibility is heavy. The days are long. There are no days off– even when you’re away (at work, sleeping in the next room, or out to dinner with friends), a piece of you is always with your child(ren).
I had no idea what was ahead when I started this journey. Some days, I question whether I’m even capable (or worthy) of the job. Each year that passes gets easier... and harder. I am often tired and always grateful.
To my boys, I love you. I’m so glad you’re mine.
