On My Radar

What a good week. It’s incredible what a few warm days will do for the soul. The leaves have seriously started popping around here and driving around and seeing GREEN just makes me happy. Giddy almost. Garrett’s schedule has been kind of all over the place lately but he had a few days off so we got to enjoy lunches together. We both agreed that a picnic was in order on Monday because it was seventy five degrees.
Simply the best.
Here’s what has been on my radar:
This Vogue video series is so good and Taylor Swift is just exceptional in hers. Tell me you don’t want to be friends with her! I think she’s so poised and intelligent while also being fun. Oh, and can we talk about her house? Charming. (Also I nearly applauded when she gave her advice about having a good lawyer. I swear everyone, regardless of what you do, needs to have a relationship with a lawyer!!!!)
TWO // PlayDate
I’m dying to get this for Teddy and Ham. PlayDate is a ball that you can remotely control while you’re away from home. As if that alone isn’t cool enough, there’s a camera inside the ball so you can stream them playing on your phone!!! I feel like this is the next best thing to being able to text your dog. (Which I wish was possible!)
My friend Molly is trying out for the Olympics. Casual. We actually learned how to row at the same high school rowing camp and literally since that day she has been a straight up rowing prodigy. She went on to row for Princeton (because she’s also insanely smart) and I’m just so, so thrilled for her to being one step closer to the Olympics. Rooting for you Molls!
Shirtdresses are the best. I always feel so put together when I’m wearing one, even at my laziest. I think they’re flattering on just about every body, especially when you can adjust the waistband. I think this one might be the sweetest shirtdress ever with little embroidered POPSICLES! I couldn’t resist, I just had to have it.
I always love ending these posts with something heartwarming and this video of a young boy tap dancing is the perfect way to end this post. He’s clearly got buckets of talent. He’s amazing!!!! But what I especially love about the video is the sweet support and cheers he gets from the older dancers watching.

Anything fun on your radar this week?!

It's amazing what good weather can do for your mood. I've been so happy and relaxed this past week despite the hustle and bustle that comes with wrapping up the end-of-term. So many people walking around campus, swinging in hammocks, lying on the green, tossing frisbees… Good vibes all around! -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey's

I loved watching Taylor's interview and that shirtdress is to die for! I'm glad that you had such a good week!

On My Radar

This was a pretty good week. Not too much going on, which is fine by me! Just the usual and nothing too special.
A few highlights: trying the new Shake Shack chicken sandwich (twice), discovering a great little spot for working, getting my butt absolutely kicked at yoga, and getting in some extra reading time. I had a little goal this week to slow down and to focus on positive energy… and I think it paid off.
(And my shoulders/neck are thanking me for it!)
Shared this on Instagram… Waiting on Martha sent me the cutest ring holder last year and I love how unique it is and how my favorite rings stack so sweetly! Rings here.
I spotted this on Pinterest and love it. Officially filed under things I’d like in life: a lake house with a sunroom. The room is right up my alley and has just about everything that I love, including a great view.

Garrett sent me this video one afternoon when he knew I needed a good laugh. I was cracking up, but also secretly wishing someone would remake this for a full length movie. It’s crazy and amazing that someone put together clips from HP and added some hip music to totally make it seem like a trailer for a teen comedy. Who else would watch?!

THREE // Kindling Cracker

This is SUCH an amazing product. Not only was it invented by a teenager for her school science fair, it’s a brilliant concept. Ayla Hutchinson created the Kindling Cracker after seeing her mom lose a finger while chopping wood. Watch some of the videos to see how cool, and safe, it is. Talk about innovation.

FOUR // The Best Financial Tips on One Index Card

Personal finances can’t be that complicated if the best advice fits onto one index card, right? That’s the idea here. It’s very basic and very good advice… for free. And each concept can be looked if you’re curious or want to learn even more.

FIVE // Baby Koala

That’s all you really need to know for this video. Baby. Koala. So stinking cute.

Anything great on your radar? Stay warm this weekend!

On My Radar

When I recapped the first part of my week a couple of days ago, I felt like it had been a full week. The weekend seemed so far away… and now, sheesh! I blinked and it’s Friday.
Another highlight of the week? Garrett and I played hooky one afternoon and went to Hoboken. Can you believe that I’ve never been? It’s seriously so easy to hop over there. Someone is putting together our family tree and needed family members to take DNA tests to confirm a couple of things about where we come from. The inner nerd in me absolutely jumped at the opportunity (it’s called 23andMe). You can’t take it in NYC or mail it from NYC… so to New Jersey we went. Honestly, it’s gorgeous over there. A huge park right on the water and you can see all of Manhattan’s skyline. Easy enough to get to when I need a little break from all the city craziness!
(Side note: Playing hooky during the day is great… until you’re at your desk at 2am having to play catch up…)

Now, onto my radar!
You should definitely watch the video on the NY Times website because it’s incredible what this artist duo does. Ryan and Travor Oakes creates concave drawings. The canvas is stretched like a sphere and then they do the drawings on the inside. When they were children, they were fascinated about visual perceptions and how they change. I’m not sure what’s more interesting, the way the final artwork looks or how they are able to draw it. The invented a device to stabilize their heads while they draw! (Seriously, watch the video… it’s too cool.)
One of my friends alerted me to this gorgeous apartment on Design Sponge. I was personally really nervous to share my apartment because I see incredible apartments like this and feel, I don’t know, inadequate?! I mean, how absolutely incredible is Taylor’s space? She’s truly made a home out of her little space. And that light, oh, that light.
After my college experience, I’d rather not go through another deck ever again. However, this one is pretty ridiculous… and awesome at the same time. It’s totally over the top (and has over 1,200 slides…), but if you take the time to zip through it, it can actually be kind of motivating. I liked how it was broken down into different sections and had tangible “takeaways.”

I feel like I’m always falling in love with J. Crew’s new arrivals. Don’t blame me, blame J. Crew for releasing them every month. Sheesh… this collection had a few really great staples. Ah!!! Scroll through to see my top picks.
FIVE // The Knick on Cinemax
Need a new show to watch? Try The Knick. The first episode is available on Youtube. Garrett and I watched it together. It’s a little… bloody, but good! Need to figure out how to watch the rest of the series now…
What’s been on your radar this week?

I've always wanted to do one of those "Who Do You Think You Are" type of family tree builders. Of course, my history major senses go into overdrive over those things, so I'm right there with you! Thank you for sharing that video of the artists, I love seeing artists at work!

If you find a way to avoid powerpoint forever, let the world know, it's pretty much apart of every job I've ever had. I use it way more now than I did even in college.

Bah I was just over on J.Crew lusting after all the new arrivals! I'm all for eternal summer, but those looks make me want fall!

Also I think you linked to the wrong thing in the text of No. 3 (though that Racked article is super interesting too)!

I think I'll be skipping Knick, I don't do well with blood at all. One time my son fell and needed stitches and I was home alone with him. I managed until my husband got home and took charge, then I passed out. But I am so obsessed with the J.Crew new arrivals. But my bank account is already angry with me, so I won't be purchasing anything for a while.

I'm loving all the new J.Crew stuff. I'll have to restrain myself from buying like six new sweaters, though!

On My Radar

Yet another Friday over here and I have some super great links that I’ve rounded up from the week. I feel like I say this every week, but these posts are so much fun to pull together. I spent a lot more time on the computer than I normally do and as a result found a lot more interesting things on the internet. I can’t tell if that’s a good thing or a bad thing… but I think it definitely makes for a good link roundup!
ONE // Richard Renaldi

Richard Renaldi is working on a project where he photographs strangers. The poses create an odd sense of intimacy between the subjects, but what’s even more remarkable is how they report feeling after being photographed. I think it’s a great reminder of the capabilities of humanity and that we’re one and the same.

I really thought Teddy was the cutest puppy in the world. Now I think he has some serious competition. You absolutely must check out the little friendship (and the story) behind Theo and Beau. Cute puppy, cute baby, cute story. Love.

THREE // Which Side of Your Brain is More Dominant?

These things are always fun. I’m not sure exactly how accurate it is, but hey! it’s fun and easy! It said that I use my brain pretty much equally. Let me know what your results are!

FOUR // Perfect Timing

Ummm these photographs are absolutely incredible!!! Some are funny and some are simply stunning. Love the idea of capturing something right at an exact moment! There are fifty of these and I was entertained thoroughly.

FIVE // Hungry Planet

I found this photo series to be extraordinarily fascinating! I love the family portraits and the displayed food. Reading the captions was great because you can really compare what different families eat and spend on a week’s worth of groceries. (Then I thought about what my grocery list would look like: Brussels sprouts and popcorn pretty much…)

What’s on your radar this week?

I am 72% left-brained! I doubted it at first so I took it again and got almost the same result… so who knows! And I used Hungry Planet for a project in college – it's crazy to see how different diets are across the world. We used it when discussing and cross-examining top health risks by geographical region. I loved looking through it!

I just did a blog post on left vs. right brained! I totally thought I was a left brained person (because I'm right handed), but come to find out I'm much more right brained!
