Shuffle Off to… Tampa

I’m in Tampa right now for Thanksgiving! It’s always so nice to get to visit with my family and sleep in my childhood bed. (I know I’m biased, but I think that it’s the most comfortable bed in the entire world.)

Continuing with the holiday outfit theme, I’m sharing a festive outfit that could totally work for the office or a get together with friends. The skirt is the cutest.

J Crew Factory

Truth be told, I’m obsessed with every piece of this outfit. Ridiculously comfortable, head to toe. Let’s break it down.

THE TOP // When I bought this, I didn’t look at the material and assumed it would be like a black cotton or black oxford cloth. It’s actually polyester but has an amazing stretch to it, making it ridiculously comfortable. It has ruffles all the way down the buttons and along the cuffs and a slight mandarin collar. It does run a little bit big, I got my usual size (XS), but as you can see there’s plenty of room in the sleeves, and it billows out a little when tucked in. If you want a more fitted look, I’d recommend going down a size. (I also bought the shirt in red, and it’s a gorgeous bright but deep color.)

THE SKIRT // I love everything about buffalo check, especially for November and December! The skirt itself has a great fit and length. I think it fits pretty true to size for J. Crew Factory. Looks great with sweaters for a cozy look, t-shirt for a casual look, button down for a work look, and a silk tank for a dressier look. Seriously this skirt can work for any event.

THE SHOES // While I haven’t been wearing heels all that much lately, I still like a little extra height now and then. These block heels are a great happy medium: a couple of extra inches with the comfort of flats. I’ve already worn them five times since I purchased them two weeks ago.

Would you mind doing a round up your favorite flats and where you like to wear them (date nights, more formalish nights, walking around the city, etc)?
