This poem by @josiebalka came at the perfect time for me. I first heard it at the end of my pregnancy when I was feeling unfit and swollen and exhausted. Then it became my mantra this summer. My jeans are, in fact, a bigger size this year than they were last year. Many days this summer I didn’t want to put on my bathing suit. I didn’t want to go into the water. I didn’t want to wear the shorts or the sleeveless dresses. I have @josiebalka’s poem saved on my phone so I could give it another listen as a little pep talk before getting dressed. 🫶🏻 As summer winds down, I’m so glad I swam in the pool, pond, lake, and ocean with my boys! I’m so glad I wore the bathing suit for slip n slides and shorts to be comfortable in the heat waves and the sleeveless dresses that spoke to me!
