Shoes

NEVER SAY NEVER

I recently purchased something (just to see if they suited me) that I said I would never buy. Like, I’ve publicly mentioned that they weren’t me.

But, hey, I’m human. And sometimes I’m simply wrong.

I bought over the knee boots. I don’t know what triggered the switch, but here I am owning and loving these boots. I actually purchased the brown and the black suede. Even as I tried them on when they arrived, I was skeptical. Standing in front of the mirror though, my mind did a reversal on my past opinion. Yep, that’s right, I love them.

PS The black suede and the black leather versions are 25% off right now at Nordstrom.

They’re amazing for a few reasons, starting with the fact that they’re waterproof. Waterproof!!! SO perfect for the winter. The boots also have a little bit of stretch in the calf and they’re incredibly comfortable. They fit super true to size. I usually size up for boots, but I found that my normal shoe size fit just right.

Unfortunately, this sweater is sold out in most sizes for this color, though the blue and pink are still available. You may also find more in your local store. I think it’s such a fun style for a cozy fall sweater with the chunky knit, oversized leather buttons, and balloon sleeves. Feels feminine without being overly stuffy.

Preppy Fall Outfit

I get questions all the time about what my favorite Barbour is and it’s the sage. I keep the rest of them for blog photos (because while I don’t care about mixing and matching the colors in real life, outfits photograph better with the “right” color 🤷🏻‍♀️), but if I were to choose just one it would be the Beadnell in sage. The green is pretty close to the classic olive but I prefer the color of the plaid in the sage. The Beadnell jacket has a slimmer cut than the more classic Barbours– plus it has the signature plaid on the cuffs and under the collar.

This is such a flattering look-and those boots look so comfortable and perfect for Fall! I’m with you-I haven’t felt super comfortable with the idea of Over the knee boots. But they seem so practical!

Those boots are stunning! How easy are they to put on? I was eyeing them (especially with the current sale!) but the lack of zipper makes me a little nervous.

I have larger calf muscles (thanks, soccer) and these aren’t that bad to put on. I’ve never really fit into other boots, but these are seriously a breeze. You just roll them down and once your foot is in, you slide them up. Highly recommend!

Fellow disproportionately large calf girl here… You roll them down? This is a mind-blowing and novel concept that I feel like such a dolt for not thinking of on my own!!

I do!! I basically roll them down to my ankles, step in like a regular shoe, and roll them back up 🙂 Seriously a HUGE game changer!

Yess to trying OTK boots!! I was always in the same boat. Like…those just aren’t “me” at all. I’m not that cool blogger. Then I tried them one day, styled em girly and loved them ever since. I love how you kept the boot so Carly too! Adorable!

Over the knee boots aren’t for me, but this is SUCH a great outfit on you. It’s been a while since you’ve posted an outfit that I’ve really loved, but I’m definitely going to have to recreate this one.

What a life to have multiple $350 jackets “for blog photos”…. So wasteful. So much needless consumption. Why do people like this?

Gorgeous 😍. Do you mind me asking how tall you are? I’m on the shorter side but loving these boots! Kudos for going outside your comfort zone! It’s something I struggle with!

The other benefit to OTK boots you’ll find once the temps drop… they keep your knees warm! Weird but true New Englander fact haha
