Are you guys doing something fun for Valentine’s Day? My friends and I got together for a movie night this weekend followed by a few appetizers. I’m tempted to whip up a few desserts though to snack on throughout the week! Loving Lou’s options (especially that flourless chocolate cake, omg).
6 Sweet Valentine’s Day Desserts
Guest post by Louisa from Living Lou
Even if you’re not the biggest fan of celebrating Valentine’s Day, I think having a reason to indulge in a little extra chocolate or dessert is pretty great. Whether you’re celebrating with a group of girlfriends for a ‘Galentine’s Day’ evening, or with your significant other, including some yummy dessert as part of your plans is pretty important.
I’ve rounded up what I think is the perfect combination of desserts, some indulgent chocolate recipes, some recipes for those who maybe don’t actually like chocolate, and some lighter and refreshing recipes (if you live somewhere warm, which, if you do, I am very jealous).
This is such a fun recipe to make with a couple of your girlfriends! Make an evening out of it, and you’ll all end up with some truffles to bring home. Plus, these seem pretty impressive, so if you’re doing homemade gifts with your partner, they will be super impressed by these.
You guys, this recipe is basically the dream dessert. Espresso + brownies + ice cream, sign me up! I highly recommend whipping up a batch of these brownies the night before and then assembling this dessert right before you’re going to eat it. It seems complicated, but it really is as simple as making brownies and serving with espresso and ice cream.
Not quite the most romantic dessert, but these gluten-free brownies are perfect if you’re planning on spending the evening with your friends watching The Bachelor or attending a Galentine’s potluck.
Yes, cheesecake for Valentine’s Day is the best idea imaginable. This cheesecake is one of my favorite dessert recipes I’ve posted.
This is a healthy and refreshing dessert. I would make this if you’re making something heavier for dinner, or if you are one of the lucky ones who lives somewhere warm!
There used to be a restaurant around the corner from my house that served the most incredible flourless chocolate cake. When the restaurant closed down, I knew that I had to try creating this recipe at home, and voila, my favorite dessert is something that I can make all the time. I don’t think there is a more quintessential Valentine’s Day dessert!
