Fourth of July

I hope everyone had a great Fourth of July! This was one of my favorite Fourths to date. I think most people celebrated over the weekend, but unfortunately, Gar had work. I spent the weekend doing some work on the new TCP website (can’t wait to show you!!!) and baking a TON for the holiday.
Garrett’s brother Hunter came into town Sunday night, and we got dinner while Gar was at work. Then the three of us drove up to Rhode Island together to visit their other brother Rob and his boyfriend, Carlin. It was such a fun family day. We sat around a big table eating food, played some outdoor games, and watched fireworks for hours and hours.

I forgot that I had this hat– it was in a stack of caps I had in a drawer after we moved. I was going through the drawer the other day looking for a scarf and rediscovered it! Perfect for the Fourth of July!
The minute the sun started to set, I was cold. The Patagonia nano-puff (30% off right now!) is perfect for cool summer nights.
Rob and Carlin’s house in Rhode Island is right down the street from the water. (The view from their bedroom is unreal!) The sunset was honestly one of the most striking ones I’ve seen in a long time. BRIGHT neon pink and orange sky for at least thirty minutes. And the fireworks got started early; I couldn’t get over how beautiful the whole scene was. We took a video of the fireworks at the very tail end of the sunset.
When it was officially dark, the whole group sat outside in the park watching fireworks in every direction along the waterfront. Our unofficial calculation was 240 degrees of fireworks viewing. It was definitely the best fireworks I’ve ever seen just based on how many there were and how long they lasted. At one point someone did a mini show in the park, we were in, and the fireworks were directly overhead. I was completely mesmerized. 
We went to bed with windows open and soft “booms!” in the distance lulling us to sleep.

Ahh I can't wait to see your new website! Of the blogs I follow, I think I've followed yours the longest, and I've gotten so used to how it looks now, but I'm so excited to see what you've been working on 🙂 // I'm sorry Garrett had to work, but it's good that he still was able to join in the celebrations eventually! I love that striped shirt from JCrew! I got it in black/white stripe but was super disappointed at how fast the armpits got holes in them! (Like 2 months after purchasing).
