This is a super, super simple outfit perfect for spring. As much as I’d love to wear springy dresses every day, there’s usually at least a slight chill in the air. Bare ankles is all I can handle right now, which is fine by me! I’ve still been wearing my favorite boots (and UGGs) a few times a week but more and more days are warm enough for cute flats.
My mom got me this coat when I was a freshman in college. It’s still one of my favorite light coats. It really goes with just about everything– and the perfect weight for spring and fall. Of course, it’s definitely an investment piece, but 10 years later and I’m still reaching for it!!
(Mine is from 2008, but this year’s is still pretty similar and Barbour makes one that’s the same color and style too.)
The pearl barrettes I have are ones I bought from J. Crew crewcuts back in 2011. I’ve held onto them through the years (and many moves) because I’ve always just thought they were so cute. Now barrettes are ~all the rage~ and I am here and ready for it. Tons of similar options here!
Recreate the look with an eyelet top, step hem jeans, a basket bag (my specific style is sold out), and cap toe flats (I bought mine in Paris as a souvenir).

Love the jacket and the barrettes! I am kicking myself now for not holding on to my fun barrettes from years ago. Definitely a fun style that has come back!

Caitlin, I was thinking the SAME thing haha!! I literally just got rid of my old fun barrettes and bobby pins last summer, and now I am wishing I wouldn’t had done that! Its funny how a trend like that comes back. I do have a pearl headband that I kept, though! Great minds think alike! 🙂

Oh my gosh, I have the Barbour version of that jacket and I could’ve sworn yours was the same one! I agree that it’s super versatile– I wear it for fall, winter, and spring! Definitely worth the investment.
I love the jacket! I have it in navy and wear it all the time! I agree it definitely is an investment but so worth it!

My parents bought me a Barbour coat just like this at the beginning of my freshman year of college too! Actually, they came to help me settle-in on move-in day and then they took me shopping hahh. That coat is definitely one of my favourites — super practical, fun print on the rolled-up cuffs, looks very put together, versatile. The last week and a half was uncharacteristically warm and I was afraid that I had missed my chance between winter and summer to pull this coat back out, but today was a little on the chillier side, so I’ll be trying to make the most of my coat before it gets too warm! -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey’s
