CARLY BACK TO SCHOOL

Jack loved his first year of preschool, and it truly made me so happy to see him thrive! He is super excited to wear his “pack pack” again and see his preschool buddies. I have been slowly starting our back to school shopping and wanted to share some of our essentials from our first year of preschool and some styles I’ve been eyeing for Jack.

Getting a toddler dressed and out the door on time for preschool can be challenging, so having an unofficial school uniform for Jack was super helpful for speeding up our mornings. I have learned my lesson when it comes to kids’ clothing that it’s a lot of trial and error. Sometimes things look like they’d be so cute and then they don’t wash well or they don’t feel comfy or just overall we never reach for it. We now have our go-to cotton polos and t-shirts that can be mixed and matched with shorts or pants and a pair of sneakers. It’s pretty much fail proof at this point and I have to say it really makes our mornings and my laundry days easier.

One of our staples are these drawstring shorts, which we now have in multiple colors. Jack is so comfortable in them and the shorter inseam is great for younger kids on the move that love to play. Jack has been wearing these moisture-wicking polos for activities this summer. They’re on the sporty side but also clean and classic, and only $8. We have a few tried and true pairs of shoes that Jack and I both approve of, including this pair of sneakers and these perforated slip-ons. Once the weather gets cooler, we love these pull on joggers and simple white long sleeve t-shirts.

Outside of clothing, this backpack has been a hit, and I’m hoping it’s something that can grow with him as he moves on to elementary school. For lunches, these bento lunch boxes are great. I am also obsessed with these bottle labels for his water bottle because I can quickly slide them on and off for cleaning, and they also add a little “grip” for little hands.
