We had one of the craziest weeks since moving here five years ago. A huge storm blew through and our town got a “direct hit.” (The National Weather Service was here to investigate and everything!) It definitely seemed like a bad storm and then for about sixty seconds it turned into a next level crazy storm. I’ve never seen anything like it– and I primarily grew up in Florida. Our town had sooo many trees down, including in our backyard. We had a big tree fall on our family room and big branches fall on our garage. Miraculously there is very little damage and we just had our roof replaced, which I think actually saved us as everything was in tip top shape and we had zero water damage. It could have been so much worse.
I’ve been stitching every second I can get to try to finish up Rory’s stocking! SO CLOSE!
Here’s what has been on my radar this week:
ONE // Redesigned Maternity Pajamas
LAKE just relaunched their maternity pajamas and I have to say they look amazing. I loved my LAKE pajamas during pregnancy (well, all the time, of course) but the new design looks even better. A drawstring and pockets!!! I still wear my maternity pajamas now– they’re great for nursing. And I can’t recommend them enough. (If you’re looking for a nice gift for a new mom, this would be a great choice!)
TWO // Olympic Podium for Gymnastics Floor
This was probably the most inspiring moment of the Olympics in my opinion! After Brazilian gymnast Rebeca Andrade won gold for the individual floor competition, Simone Biles and Jordan Chiles bowed down to her on the podium. Not only is it incredible to see someone reach such an incredible lifetime achievement, but to witness a wonderful example of sportsmanship at the same time? PURE MAGIC. I’m so happy this is the example girls all over the world will see.
THREE // $35 Lady Cardigan
Love that the lady cardigan trend is here to stay. Target just released their version of the trend and it’s super affordable and super cute. The buttons! A must-have as we move into fall fashion.
FOUR // Karrie Locher on D-MER
I experienced D-MER while breastfeeding with Jack (and I’m experiencing it now with Rory, but to a lesser degree). It was a huge struggle in my overall breastfeeding journey and it’s something I had never heard of until I was googling my symptoms while nursing one day. I’m so happy to see it being recognized more and more as I think it’s more common than people realize and it can affect a mother’s breastfeeding experience.
FIVE // Cap Toe Mary Jane Block Heel
These cap toe block heels are so freaking chic. I’m working on rebuilding my shoe wardrobe after my feet grew during my last pregnancy (boo!). These might just have to make its way into my closet. They are SO cute and so me. I think they’d be a great shoe for the workplace too.
So glad everyone is safe after the storm! Have a great weekend!
