Over the past couple of years, I have been trying to incorporate anti-aging products into my daily beauty routine. I haven’t found something that I totally loved, so I opted for prevention instead of correction.
I grew up in Florida as a very pale kid with a family of people who tanned to golden brown every summer. I did my best to apply sunscreen and to avoid the sun whenever possible. (We had a boat and I would hide under fishing shirts, hats, and even towels.) Even with my best efforts, exposure to the sun is still bound to happen and I’d suffer at least one sunburn a year. My sunscreen application was almost entirely just to avoid painful sunburns. The thought of damaging my skin didn’t dawn on me until I was in high school when one of my coaches told me I’d end up with a bunch of wrinkles if I didn’t do a better job of protecting my face with a hat (true story).
Now that I’m in my late twenties (hello 28!), I’m definitely starting to see a little aging around my eyes and definitely on my forehead. I have one prominent line that runs the length of my forehead and it drives me crazy. Kiehl’s reached out for me to do a sponsored review of their Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate. Everything I’ve tried before has been more gimmick than anything else, but I’m always game to try a product, especially if I think it can help me with an insecurity, like my forehead wrinkle!!
The Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate is a serum with 12.5% Vitamin C and, no joke, within two weeks of using it (twice a day) I could see a difference. It feels a little like liquid gold. I kept raving about it to all my friends and family, making them get up close and personal with my forehead wrinkle saying, “See! It’s definitely getting better!” Carter, who spends a lot of time with me during the week and takes close-up photographs of my face, definitely can speak to the difference the best.
In my experience, serums can often be a weird, slippery, and hard to apply texture; they tend to feel messy to me. This serum is different. Even before I had been using it long enough to see results, I just loved using the product. When my sister was here visiting, I had her put it on to try too. I had been describing it as “silky,” and she looked at me wide-eyed and said, “It’s not ‘silky,’ it’s ‘velvety.'” Best description. It goes on so smoothly and feels like a luxurious lotion.
The serum can be used everywhere, but I’ve been making sure to hit my problem areas: my forehead and around my eyes. Additionally, I’ve been putting it on my neck because I’d like to help prevent wrinkles there!
I should have trusted the product on name alone. Kiehl’s makes amazing products (the Super Fluid is my go-to everyday sunscreen and this is one of the best primers I’ve ever used) and is the third oldest retailer in the United States!
Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate is their #1 best-selling face serum and was reformulated with 2% more Vitamin C. Vitamin C is excellent for the skin because it’s a natural antioxidant and boosts collagen production and can help skin heal itself. The concentrate is also water-free, alcohol-free, colorant-free, and has no preservatives.
If you’re like me and want to start using an anti-aging product and don’t know where to start (or haven’t been happy with what you have been using), I can’t recommend this concentrate from Kiehl’s enough.
Thank you ShopStyle and Kiehl’s for sponsoring this post.
Carly, I actually just bought this product the other day! I’ve only used it for three days currently, but I’m glad I decided to splurge on it. 🙂

I am so bad about protecting my pale skin but I am committed to changing that this year. I am super acne prone so I am always afraid to try any new products that could cause my skin to flare up. But I think I will definitely need to try this!

I walked into a Kiehl’s store about 3 years ago, hoping to find a skin care regimen that could help my skin. I left with about 5 different products, this serum being one of them and I honestly can say using Kiehl’s products has 100% changed my skin. I no longer get breakouts, my skin has less bumps (from acne) and is smoother.
I recommend Kiehl’s products to anyone who asks me about skincare and this serum is always the #1 item I recommend.
xo, Taylor
Is it bad that at 19 I’m already paranoid about wrinkles?! Definitely going to try this out.

Sounds so nice and legit lol. Just wondering, at what point in your routine do you use the serum? Before/after cleansing or before/after moisturizing?
After cleansing, before moisturizer!
Wow I totally thought that Kiehl’s was a British brand!
Could you link your top? I am obsessing over it.
This post could not have come at a better time! I have been searching for a Vitamin C serum that I may actually use for more than a week before forgetting about it! I have a deep line across my forehead too that bothers me so much I even have gotten botox a couple times (I am only 29!) For the record I follow your blog and I have NEVER noticed yours!! But it is nice to know someone else has the same issue! I just ordered this product and can’t wait to try it!!
This may be weird but have you tried Botox? I’m only wondering because I do have Botox on forehead wrinkles and wonder if this product would still be valuable! Xo
I haven’t…. I’m trying to “age gracefully” and I’m terrified of needles hahaha
Loved the white sweater! looks like it is super cosy 🙂

Carly, I just got a bunch of Kiehl’s samples and have started a new skincare routine for 2018. Love their products so much! I love the ultra facial line, and have started using the midnight recovery concentrate + the reviving concentrate. Such great products. I’ll have to try the line-reducing concentrate next.

Okay, first you are seriously so gorgeous. And I love Kiehl’s products. This one looks like a winner! I have a few friends looking for something like this, so I will definitely recommend it to them! 🙂

How long do you find a bottle of the facial sunscreen lasts you? I’m always so hesitant to drop $$ on something that’ll get used up so quickly!
A LONG time!!! A little goes a long way!
@ what age do you recommend incorporating anti aging products? I’m in college right now (20’s). I love your blog 🙂 and thank you !!
It’s definitely a personal choice!
Hi Carly!! My first comment on your blog! Have you tried the skinceuticals serum 10 (10% vitamin C)? I would like to see a comparison between them… Love your blog! Have a great 2018!
I started using this productive just after the first of the year and saw results almost immediately. Six weeks later this is by far my favorite part of my skin routine and leaves my skin feeling fresh and firm. Thanks for the recommendation!
