JACK’S CLOSET STAPLES

I wanted to share of our “closet staples” for Jack. Especially now that he’s getting “older,” (seven months!!!) I have found that we are leaning on a few staples quite a bit. When he was more in the newborn phase, I was all about cozy little onesies and matching sweater sets. When we went out (which wasn’t all that much), he was typically bundled up in a bassinet or otherwise hidden beneath blankets. Now he’s on the move and we’re out and about so much more, so all of this dictates what he’s most comfortable in. I’m also pretty picky about what he wears. No words, no motifs, no smocking, no bubbles– it’s harder to find than I imagined. (It always drives me crazy when you finally find the tiny boy section in a store and 50% of items are Star Wars themed… I do not understand, haha.) My ideal outfit for him (until he has his own opinions, of course) is just like mini versions of what Mike wears. Cute jeans, khakis. Henley shirts, sweatshirts. I have so much fun dressing him every morning!!

We have a few “special” clothing items, but here are the staples we rely on on an everyday basis. These are such favorites that I’ve stocked up on every size!

POCKET JERSEY TEES  // PATAGONIA BUNTING (currently 30% off, a good time to stock up!)

CARHARTT HAT // 2-PACK HENLEY TEES

OVERALLS // OXFORD SHIRTS

KNIT ONE PIECE // BUTTON FRONT BODY SUITS

SHORTS // JEANS // KHAKIS

SWEATSHIRT SET // CONVERSE SNEAKERS // UGG BOOTIES

I used to get the H&M sweatshirts for my baby daughter but then came across the Target Cat & Jack ones. They are super soft and a great price. I highly recommend them. They come in patterns or solids.

I love the outfits! I dressed my son the same way when he was tiny. Enjoy all the moments now, because right about age 2 they get some strong opinions and eventually you give in to all the star wars or theme outfits. I cringed the day I bought the light up shoes! 😉

Darling! My 2 year old is pretty adament that his shirts must have a dinosaur, truck, or Paw Patrol characters on it or else he refuses to wear clothes, so I miss the days when I could choose the cute outfits like these!

Same! All of the sudden my son wanted dinosaur everything. This post is how I wish he wanted to dress 🤣

These are all adorable! I love his style. I try to dress my 8 month old boy similarly. I agree it is so annoying that the boy’s section is so tiny in every store! Cute stuff is out there, but options are so limited.

Carly! Have you seen the new Banana Republic baby line? They have some super cute (non- Star Wars) boys clothes. It’s definitely on the pricier side- there’s a $250 baby leather jacket which is adorable but also a little absurd. Worth checking out!!

I love his (okay, your haha) style! How do you gently influence people to buy him clothes like that though, instead of the “Mommy’s little flirt” type stuff or Star Wars/Disney character things?

I have a 3 month old boy and feel like everything is dinosaurs/cars/wording- not a fan! I also try to look for gender neutral (not sure why exactly, but not so easy to find either)! With that said, people have gifted us so many clothes and I still put them on him. I love your style and can’t wait to dress him preppyish. Figure I can get away with it while he lets me 🙂
