Black and White (x2)

Last week I went into the city for a couple of events and meetings. I decided to the spend the night (at The Plaza, it was so dreamy) so I wouldn’t have to make the Connecticut commute. It’s fun to have a little staycation and pretend like I still live there for a night or two.

After a few meetings and shoots on Monday afternoon, I met up with the Tuckernuck team and a few other bloggers for a dinner party! It was so much fun. Instead of just having a sit-down meal, it was also a cooking class. We did just the right amount of cooking (i.e., very little) and socializing (i.e., a lot).

Tuckernuck

I picked out an outfit from Tuckernuck to wear to the event. Bell sleeves were probably not the best idea for a cooking class, but I’m happy to report that I came home with a still-perfectly-white shirt.

Carter and I filmed a little video from the night!

Tuckernuck Outfit

I love how simple the outfit is (white tee, black jeans), but the bell sleeves on the shirt elevate it just enough. I’m all about it.

Tuckernuck Earrings

I couldn’t resist these white statement earrings too.

When I go on overnight trips, I try to pack as lightly as possible. I knew I would be wearing the first outfit for the Tuckernuck dinner, so I quickly packed a second outfit for the next day based on the black shoes. I didn’t realize until I looked in the mirror as I got dressed that I packed the exact reverse! White jeans and a black bell-sleeved top.

I had to share the photos in the same post because I thought it was so funny. I’m obviously very creative when it comes to my outfits.

I’ve seen you wear/talk about these flats before, but I didn’t realize how affordable they were! I wore my pair from Sam Edelman into the ground last year so I’m going to give these a try for fall. I love the black and white…you just know what you like 😉

I love both of these looks- the simple outfits are ones I’m drawn to the most these days. You can’t go wrong with a classic black and white look!

What a fun event! It’s such a great feeling making something you learned to cook then getting to enjoy it with the company of others.

I love that black cross body bag. I’ve been needing a new one for months now!

Both outfits are so cute, but I adore the black top with white jeans. It reminds me of a modern take on Jackie Kennedy’s style.

LOVE black and white styling! Always a bit of a challenge to make it happen in a prep look. You nailed it! Snatching up these shirts immediately! By the way, your handbag for outfit #2 is AMAZING!!

I’m impressed that you were able to cook in a white shirt and not totally destroy it! I wear white for 5 minutes and manage to get coffee all over all of it.

Both outfits are adorable, but the second is my favorite! I love the more subtle bell sleeve and the bow-accented handbag. Leave it to Tuckernuck to always provided the perfect pieces 🙂 Hope you had a fun stay at the Plaza!
