DIARY No. 121

Here is what we’ve been up to according to the past two weeks according to my camera roll.
Carly drinking a coffee on the couch with her kindle watching the olympics

I already miss watching the Olympics. It was so nice to just put it on in the background and also to sit down for the big events too. Loved it more than I have in years past too. We were down the shore a couple of weeks ago and everyone was at the beach, but I was in the house with Rory while napped. Ideal morning if you ask me 😉

Jack playing at the Liberty Science Center

I am going to do a dedicated post for Jack’s third birthday (I’m behind!) but we took him to the Liberty Science Center. This was our first time and I can’t believe how long it took to go. It’s so clean and well-done. He was the perfect age for so many of the exhibits– and there’s even more to discover as he gets older. We’ll be back!!

Jack standing outside of a firestation bay admiring the fire engine

We’ve been making a lot of trips to the fire station lately. They are so nice and kind! Even just walking by the admire the fire engines is a nice treat!

Jack walking into a tennis lesson

There is just something incredible about watching your baby turn into a real kid and seeing what they’re into. Jack is obsessed with any sport that requires a racket or paddle (squash, tennis, pickleball….) and he is finally old enough for the weekly tennis lesson at our pond club. It’s for 3-5 year olds so he’s the smallest one there but omg he just loves it. It’s an entire hour long lesson, which felt like a big ask for a three year old! He totally rose to the challenge though. Proud of him!!

A plate of spaghetti with a children's book about spaghetti

We don’t really have spaghetti that often and I think we are going to be holding off for the time being because we’re cursed, haha! Mike made spaghetti twice and both nights we had a huge storm! This last time we lost power overnight and into the next day… we both joked that we shouldn’t make it anymore. (PS Mike’s friend got Jack this book and it’s so freaking cute.)

Teddy the toy poodle curled up on bed

Everyone has been enjoying afternoon nap time. Probably no one more than Teddy! Nothing like a quiet couple of hours after mayhem with a toddler boy and baby.

A black rolex watch with a dorsey diamond bracelet

I added a little bracelet from Dorsey into my rotation. It’s so delicate and looks good on its own or mixed with other accessories, too.

Carly pushing a double stroller with her two children in it

Okay, okay! I think I’m on the double stroller train. I wanted the Nuna double TRVL when I had Rory, but it didn’t have a release date. It ended up coming back out in July and by then I thought maybe we didn’t need one. Baby Jogger sent me a double stroller and it actually sat in the box for almost a month. I opened it up one day to do a walk to pick Jack up from daycare and wow, it’s been so nice to have! Jack surprisingly loves it (that was my biggest concern) and I’m blown away by how easy it is to push and maneuver. I thought it’d feel super wide but it goes into normal door frames! Color me impressed. I’m also just laughing at my pre-kids self for thinking one stroller was fine and now we have a full blown arsenal.

The hydrangea season here was fantastic, then the heat burned them out so quickly, and then we got blasted with a ton of rain and they kind of came back? Loving these late summer colors.

Two strawberry banana smoothies on a table

Jack wanted to go get smoothies one day and of course I couldn’t say no! Jack and Rory and I walked into town and had the nicest afternoon.

Carly wearing a barn jacket with a mockup of monograms on the sleeve and pocket

My Old Navy barn jacket arrived and I’m in love. I sized up one size and really love this fit. I’ve been trying to figure out where to put a monogram… on the sleeve cuff or the pocket placket.

A mirror selfie of Carly holding Rory

And a quick little selfie with my big sweet boy who is getting bigger by the minute!
