Diary No. 15

I weirdly don’t have too much to share from the past two weeks. My camera roll was pretty low on the content 😂

Birthday Gift

My mom surprised me with an Hermés scarf for my birthday. I pretty much always tell my parents to not get me anything because I have everything I need… this was so thoughtful though. I think I’m going to have it framed for our living room because the print is so beautiful.

Matchbook Diaries

When I was putting together this post, I spotted three of these matchbooks! The Dutch was where Mike and I went on our blind date… we had such a special trip last fall in Paris and stayed at the Ritz… and we went to Eleven Madison Park for a special occasion (and it was our favorite meal together, ever!). I’m debating on painting our dining room, so I’m holding off on hanging them, but the plan is to put them in there above the bar cart!

BBG Apple Watch

I am back in the BBG game and it hurts so good. I went all the way through BBG 3.0, but decided I should go back to the basics with 1.0. I was getting a little burnt out towards the end of 3.0. It feels good to be back at the beginning and, if nothing else, it’s really showed me how far I’ve come. I struggled with 1.0 when I did it last year and now I’m cranking through the exercises. It’s actually one of the best parts of the program… it doesn’t matter if you’re a beginner or an “expert,” the workout works for everyone. I’m able to get through the circuits 2+ time where a year ago I’d almost never get to finish the second circuit in seven minutes.

Anywayyyy– I love the routine of working out regularly again. I missed it towards the end of the summer.

Create Tote

I mentioned in one of my posts that I’m going to Pencil and Paper Co’s Creative Camp. Guys, I am excited for it!!! I was supposed to go with one of my friends but she had a family conflict, then I decided to go by myself… but now Ashley is coming along with me!!! Gen sent me this adorable tote and it’s so fun and bright. I keep these kinds of totes stocked up in my car for errands.

Juniper Books

Juniper Books is always coming up with the BEST ideas for custom book covers. They just launched this modern monogram set… Could it be any cuter? I had some questions about what books are under the custom covers:

1. Emma by Jane Austen

2. Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens

3. Moby-Dick by Herman Melville

4. This Side of Paradise by F. Scott Fitzgerald

5. To the Lighthouse by Virginia Woolf

Dogs Beach

Ham got super sick last week and Mike and I were supposed to go down the shore to celebrate my birthday and his brother in law’s with all the siblings. Mike went down Friday and I was going to play it by ear to see how Ham was doing. Thankfully, the vet tried a different medicine Friday morning and it WORKED. We gave him extra fluids all afternoon and he slept nearly perfectly through the night. I was having major FOMO though missing the weekend so I loaded Ted and Ham in the car Saturday to get in some of the beach weather. Between the new medicine and a full night of sleep, Ham was back to his usual self! I actually think getting out of the house was good for everyone and he got to run around a little bit on the beach. Both my pups love it!

Katherine McGee

Dress (c/o)

On Tuesday, I popped into the city for an afternoon tea with Katie McGee, the author of American Royals. It was such a fun read (my only complaint is that it ended too soon! I am ready for more!!!). I loved getting to meet Katie in person as we’ve been DMing occasionally on Instagram. It’s always nice to get to know someone IRL.

Whole Foods Flowers

Just a little PSA that the flowers at Whole Foods right now are everything. If this isn’t a perfect “September bouquet,” I don’t know what is!

Dudley Stephens

After a quick morning workout, I headed over to HomeGoods yesterday. We have guests coming over and have no bedside lamps. Everything is pumpkin-city and, not going to lie, it made me want to get a pumpkin-flavored treat, light a cozy candle, and decorate all the pumpkins!!! It didn’t hurt that it was chilly that morning– chilly enough to throw on my Dudley Stephens fleece!

Carly, how do you like using the BBG app on your apple watch vs. your iPhone? I have been thinking of getting the watch… I’ve never been a big wrist-accessory person, but feel like the apple watch or a fitbit would keep me motivated to stick with an exercise routine!

I like both but I probably use the phone more just because I think the iPhone is slightly more intuitive!
