It’s been almost a month since my last diary post! Some fun things to catch up on:
Before Christmas and once the kids were all home from preschool, school, and daycare we had everyone over to our house to decorate some cookies for Santa! It was such a fun afternoon. (This is the recipe we use!)
I also made a big batch of chocolate chip cookies for Christmas day at Mike’s parents’ house. These are always a hit and I always regret not stealing a few to keep at home!
We had such a great Christmas! We did Christmas morning at our house as a family. I was kind of on the fence about whether Jack would be into or not. Obviously he doesn’t understand Santa, but he lit up seeing the big toys and immediately dove into playing. Mike and I had a cup of coffee together while Jack played before going to my in-laws to celebrate with the bigger fam.
And then we actually went down to Tampa for New Year’s Eve! We got lucky with great weather– it was freezing in NJ and freezing the week before in Tampa. Always love shorts weather…. especially for little boys! We spent as much time as possible relishing the warm weather. Jack was in heaven going to the park and playing “basketball” outside.
And I spotted our Christmas present to my parents! They always had two handprints of my sister and me hanging up when we were kids. Mine was a preschool turkey handprint so when Jack came home with his little turkey handprint, I knew I had to have it framed for my parents. Framebridge now offers the little brass plates and I am obsessed with how it looks.
On New Year’s Day, Mike and I left Jack with my parents and we went to see the Bucs play. This was my first NFL game!!! Our friends’ brother is on the team so we got to go onto the field before the game and everything. It was a blast and I might be more of a football fan now. The game was so fun!
I think it’s safe to say Jack had a good time 😉
I have a huge stack of these notecards on hand for various thank you notes/messages for Jack. They’re very affordable and super cute. Highly recommend.
I’ve been trying to get out of the house more when Jack has daycare and visiting our local cafe to work, see a friend, or just grab a coffee to go has been so nice.
Need to share this Trader’s Joe find. A dill-flavored salad. It is soooo good and even has dill pickle chips to crunch on top. I love dill so much and this gets a 4.5/5 stars from me. (My only complaint is that I think I personally wouldn’t mind it being even more dill-y.)
And the pistachio latte at Starbucks is BACK!!!!! This is hands down my favorite drink from Starbucks. I was just telling Mike how much I missed it (I got it almost every day last January I swear) and that I was going to try my hand at making it at home. Imagine my surprise when I pulled through the drive through trying to kill some time before Jack’s swim lessons and…. the pistachio latte was on the menu!!
And I’ll leave you with a sneak peek of sorts. Our guest bath (also Jack’s bath) is currently under construction!!! I can’t wait to show you how it turns out!!! We postponed construction until after the holidays and the anticipation has been killing me.
Such a fun recap of happenings! Thanks for sharing!

As always such a fun post to read on a Saturday morning! Excited to see the guest bath project finished!
Jack is TOO CUTE in his little shorts! Happy New Year. Looking forward to seeing the bathrooms!
