FALL FAMILY PHOTO IDEAS: WHAT TO WEAR

Today is a post that’s highly requested every year– fall family photo ideas. This is definitely a great time to get family portraits taken. I find fall foliage so pretty, there’s usually great lighting to work with in the autumn months, and (the best part) you’ll have updated photos just in time to select your holiday cards!

I was playing around with different color combinations for this particular round up and landed on burgundy, cream, and navy. What I really love about this is that the colors will pop beautifully with fall foliage and look great with holiday cards too! Kind of the best of both worlds. (Plus it’s just a classic combination and you can find bits of each color for everyone in the family without much searching so you can swap in things as you need.)

As always, for my fall family photo ideas I like to go for something coordinated and not overly matching. I think the key is going for a mix of textures, patterns, and solids to create the most dynamic combination. Because of the nature of my work, this part comes pretty naturally to me. If it’s not to you, I recommend laying out all the outfits together and snapping a quick photo to make sure nothing clashes (or is too matchy-matchy)!
