I am kind of obsessed with olive green right now. I think it’s partly me looking forward to fall while still embracing the last bit of summer. Luckily for me, there’s no shortage of green in stores right now. (And unluckily for my wallet if we’re honest.)
I picked up this skirt from J. Crew last week, and it goes with a surprising number of things. At home, I tried it on with a striped tee, a black sweater, a blue/white striped blouse, and a white oxford shirt. I ended up going with a white tee just to keep things simple for an easy daytime look, but the black sweater dressed it up nicely.
The tie is also pretty versatile. I, naturally, went with a bow front and center. The model online has it tied as a sash on the side, and it can even be tied in the back.
As for sizing, I found that the waist is true to size, but the actual skirt runs a little small. So if you’re curvier or have a more muscular butt, I’d go up a size.
Oh, and pockets. I feel like I always have to mention that because pockets are always a welcomed feature.
I’ve also mentioned my favorite t-shirt, but I don’t think I’ve ever worn it in an “official” outfit post. These tees are, without a doubt, the best on the market. The fit couldn’t be better, and they are not see through. I have them in almost every color I love the style so much. But, at the end of the day, you can’t go wrong with white.

Love the skirt. How’s the quality of that purse?
It’s not super “soft” but it’s a great little crossbody
I love that fourth photo! Legs for days! & That glow! // Olive green has been my favourite colour for the last few years 🙂 Lately I’ve been finding more shades of green that I love, so I’ve also been loving forest green! And when I went to a thrift store a few months ago, I found a sweater that was “Christmas green” and I had to have it! -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey’s
been looking for a perfect tee recently! what size are you wearing? Would you say they stretch out or have some elasticity? thank you!
XS– they don’t stretch out at all (in a good way) and they wash BEAUTIFULLY.
Amazing, thank you! xx
I love the little details on that skirt!! This is definitely an outfit I would wear, too.

Is it me or green is going to be huge next season? I keep seeing it everywhere. It’s a color I don’t often wear, not because I don’t like it, I just don’t seem to be attracted to it. However, I find your skirt lovely, Carly 🙂
So cute!! I love that they didn’t skimp on the bow. 🙂
That skirt is perfect for a walk around a garden! Beautiful!
