I was contacted by Tommy Hilfiger representatives about doing a giveaway with TH’s new perfume, Eau de Prep!
In addition to the perfume, the winner will also receive a bunch of other great stuff:
True Prep by Lisa Birnbach
A Carryall
Plaid Journal
and everything else featured!

They sent me the perfume to try out too.  It’s a really pleasant fragrance.  Very light and not too “perfume-y,” which is an absolute must for me.  Simple enough as an everyday scent, but can be worn at night too!

My classic preppy icon is definitely Audrey Hepburn (a la Breakfast at Tiffany's of course), and my modern preppy icon is Rachel Bilson because I love how she mixes preppy basics with edgy pieces to create a style all her own.

This is so cliche but Spencer Hastings from Pretty Little Liars has some amazing outfits. And although there is no face to the name, Prepaganda from tumblr gives some great style advice. Oh, I always love YOUR OOTD's too 😉

I think my prep style icon would be Jackie Kennedy. I'm a bit old fashioned and love the silhouette and tailoring of the clothes she used to wear. She always looked beautiful and appropriate for the affair!

Jackie Kennedy Onassis for sure – so classic and her classic style has inspired so many of the current prep icons. Charlotte from Sex and the City does a good job of blending classic preppy style with more fashion-forward items.

My icon would have to be Audrey Hepburn because of her well known simple black dress. A black dress can be dressed up or dressed down and no matter how you wear it you will always rock being a style fashionista! 😀

I used to be obsessed with Tommy Girl back when i was in High School. I will have to give this a smell. I love Bethenny Frankel's style, she dresses preppy but still trendy. I also love Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston's style.

As for preppy style icons, I tend to take hints from menswear rather than women's, because so much of the aesthetic is unisex. Especially in the summer, I tend to look to JFK for style inspiration. I also love Jenna Lyons' perfect mix of preppy and eccentric pieces.

My prep style icon would have to be Jacki O. She was, in my opinion, the trendsetter for all things prep. Today, I think this style is encompassed by Kate Middleton's wardrobe and classic style.

Fictional: Blair Waldorf. The clothes, the headbands… everything about her is perfect.

Real-life: Kate Middleton. She constantly looks beautiful and put together. She doesn't have to try hard at all to impress others; her classic style does it all for her.

I know I'm supposed to just pick one but I have a few icons that I have. I just adore the classics like Jackie O, Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn, & Ali McGraw & CoCo Chanel. I also like Kate Middleton (America's New Princess), Rachel Bilson (girl next door at her best), and Reese (who does it like no other), Lauren Conrad ( Brought East Coast to the OC) and Blair from gossip girl (while she may just be a character, those outfits are a work of art.)But since I am a mixed Chick Im digging my black beauties like Dorothy Dandridge, Lena Horne,& Michelle Obama women of color with such grace and elegance.
