LEANING INTO BLACK

Over the years, I’ve gravitated towards navy and white in the summer and then switched to black and camel in the fall/winter. And while I still love navy (and have a closet full of it), I have found myself reaching for black more, regardless of the season. I think it’s just so much easier to get dressed and I feel more put together even if the outfit is simple. Maybe it’s just the season of life I’m in? Not sure, but I’m not mad about it.

I wore this a couple of weeks ago to walk through Central Park with Sam. The pictures already feel “outdated” because Jack has grown up so much between then and now– it’s wild how quickly they change! I wanted to still share the outfit though because J. Crew is currently having a fall savings event. It’s a pretty good deal and this dress qualifies and immediately gets you past the first threshold.

THE FALL HAUL EVENT: $25 off orders of $100+, $50 off orders of $150+, and $100 off orders of $250+ with code MOREFALL

I bought this dress right after I had Jack. I was feeling a little down about my body honestly and wanted something cute, that fit, and that I could nurse in (the buttons are functional!). Of course, a LBD solves all kinds of fashion problems, and this one had everything I needed. Including pockets (!!!), which weren’t even on my list, but they’re always nice to have, right?

The puff sleeve is the best! Elevates the dress just enough to feel fancy without being stuffy. (And the length is great, too. Short but not too short.)

Here’s a link to Jack’s outfit. The Etsy shop is currently taking a break, but linking it still in case you want to pin it to come back later. (OMG he seriously looks so different to me already!!!)

You’re doing a great job! 😉

Being a new mom is hard and black was definitely the color of my wardrobe with our first children. Seven years lady and with baby number three, three months old, I’m finally slowly leaning away from black in my closet. Black is timeless and if is definitely easier to wear and launder when you are in mom mode! 👍

You’re doing awesome!
Thank you for sharing your experiences!
