Mother’s Day Surprise

It’s no secret that I love my mom. As I get older, my appreciation and love for her only grow. I feel like my sister and I hit the “mom lottery” and it’s not something I take for granted. Sure, we get on each other’s nerves from time to time, but it’s never anything that lasts more than twenty seconds.

My trip to Florida was solidified when I knew it would fall over Mother’s Day weekend. I always love spending time with my family, and it’s extra special if there’s something we get to celebrate. I came home on Thursday and showed off the Gal Meets Glam dresses I packed to shoot for upcoming launches Friday morning. My mom had purchased one from the April Collection and pretty much couldn’t stop talking about it. (No joke, my mom might be Julia’s #1 fan.) She kept saying she wished she had a black or navy one to wear on Mother’s Day… and I had her try on the navy one I brought home.

She LOVED it. She was twirling around the bathroom going on and on about how much she needed the dress. I got on the phone with Thomas and asked if he could have the dress overnighted for my mom. It hadn’t launched yet and J+T were sweet enough to send it in under 24 hours. I didn’t tell my mom that they were sending it so I just kept nodding every time she mentioned that she was going to be on her computer at 9 am to buy it on Tuesday. (Please note: she made hourly comments about buying it.)

On Saturday morning, the box was delivered. I filmed my mom’s reaction and when she realized that the pink box was from GMG, her eyes LIT UP. It was the cutest thing ever. She changed into the dress and, again, started twirling around in it. It really looks amazing on her.

Of course, we had to do a little photo shoot together on Mother’s Day in the matching dresses.

This is another dress that I’m adding into my “summer events” rotation. I love that it has a little sleeve coverage, but the plunging v-neckline keeps it from being overly modest. I have to say, the fit on this one is superb. When I zipped it up for the first time, I instantly felt like I was wearing an incredible well-made dress.

I re-wore the dress down in Boca Grande so I could share some more photos of it with you all.

It’s such a good swingy dress. I can see why my mom started to twirl around the second she put it on.
