MY DELUSIONAL WISHLIST

After sharing my gift guide last week, I thought it would be fun to put together a wishlist for myself. This is a delusional wishlist, to be clear. I have pretty much everything I could ever possibly want, and then some. And I’m not just saying that, I really mean it.

I titled this my delusional wishlist because a few things on here are beyond delusional. But I do want a few things that I would consider normal. Maybe a little expensive for what they are but also isn’t that what makes it a little something special? The nice version of an everyday item? (Also, I’m getting to the point in my life where I would 100% rather “buy nice” than “buy twice.”)

My real wishlist would be to have a really, really good night of sleep. I swear I haven’t slept for a full straight hours since last November. (I was crazy sick all of December, then Hamilton was sick all of January, and then I had a baby in February…. I am tired 🥱) Or like getting my car detailed… it’s the little things!

I’m sensing a big theme here… clearly I’m in my homebody era.

Enamel Splatterware Set

We have a great set of white everyday dishes that we love and plenty of fancy dinnerware to pull out for special occasions (including the china we used at our wedding– a perk of a small wedding!) I love that this enamel splatterware is fun and colorful but also great for just everyday living, too.

Therabody Smart Goggles

These have been on my wishlist for a while and I tried them in the store in the mall recently– wow. They feel even better than I imagined they would! The temple massage is absolutely everything.

Fancy Range

If you’ve been following this saga on Instagram… this is the item that kicked off the delusional wishlist. Not this exact range, but my friend convinced me this is what I want. As over the top as it is on its own, it’s also a “give a mouse a cookie” item as I wouldn’t want to just add a new oven to our kitchen but build a kitchen around it. Naturally. (See… delusional!)

iPad

I have an iPad that works just fine, but it can’t exactly keep up with 2024 (almost 2025) standards. It’s slow and lags and as I try to come up with my “dream” digital planning set up, I’ve been seriously considering upgrading my iPad.

Rolling Pin

Bringing it back to the basics, my rolling pins needs an upgrade. I’ve had the same rolling pin since my first NYC apartment (well over a decade ago) and it’s seen better days. One of my tasks I’ve assigned myself when I take my holiday break is to go through every drawer and cabinet in our kitchen and pare down what we have and come up with a list of things to upgrade for quality sake. The rolling pin is already nagging me.

Lame

I bought a lame as part of a sourdough kit and the quality left something to be desired. Right now I’ve been (don’t judge me) holding the razor with my bare hands. Dangerous (and definitely delusional). Most lames I’m coming across aren’t exactly my personal style…. but I love how simple this one is and that I could get it engraved with a personal touch.

Flatware

Where do all the forks go?! We got new silverware when we moved into our house and it’s been a great set. Nothing fancy, gets the job done. As pieces have wandered off (I do have my suspicions…), I’ve pulled in old forks and spoons from previous apartments and now our silverware drawer is turning into a mix-matched mess. It’s driving me crazy tbh. I like that this set has a touch of personality and can be used on an everyday basis.

Martha Stewart Entertaining

Do I want this because I want this or do I want this because it’s what everyone else wants? I am actually shocked my mom doesn’t have it! (She probably did at one point…) My dream would be to stumble on a copy of it somewhere and just get lucky. For now my huge lot of Martha Stewart “Living” magazines will do just fine!

Apron

I kind of want a classic apron. Mike has one that I’ve worn but it’s a little too manly and I have seasonal ones that are fun for holidays, but this one is just classic. I have dreams of wearing it in where it feels like an old friend over the years.

Scarf

Scarves have been a go-to accessory for me lately. I’m loving how it dresses up a boring outfit just so. I don’t have any particular print or style in mind, really. I have a good selection of blues… and some pinks… and a green touch or two. So maybe something in a different colorway.

Omg, yes, an Apron!! I’ve been dreaming of one for really no reason. I always cook in my pajamas, so who cares if they get dirty, but I just want one.

Also, I upgraded my flatware during the pandemic. I moved from a on set that was 10+ years old to a nice set from Oneida. Best decision ever.

I highly recommend the smart goggles. I have a pair and they’re a game changer for my stressful job. I bring them to work occasionally and use them during my lunch hour (if I get one).

I love this post! I agree 100% on wishing for sleep (I have a 6 yr old and 10 month old…) I always put “a pony” on my delusional wishlist, in hopes that one day it will actually happen. It’s ok to dream 🙂

My ultimate delusional dream is to have an English cottage with an Aga range running year-round 😅 love that your dream stove has the option to add an induction cooktop!

I have some old spatter ware and I love it so that’s not far fetched at all. I have old blue onion ware dishes too. My mom helped me collect them. I miss her so much. I think if you have the means and you cook a lot , you should have that great stove. We live once. We never know how we will end up in the winter of our lives. Have no regrets. Just be happy!!

I love the motto “Buy nice instead of buy twice”! I will be thinking about that! Also, I just have to brag for a sec- I *did* stumble upon Entertaining in a secondhand shop… for $8….. signed!!!! They are out there! Happy hunting!

Hi Carly, Get the WS apron: we try other aprons and always go back to WS.

Would that flatware get funky in the dishwasher? It’s wooden?

The stove is my top dream; my mom gave me her Martha Stewart book probably because I carried it around with me in high school. lol…
