I’m officially going on a blog break after today’s post! I usually take a full week off, but I will be back on the 26th for my blog’s 10 year anniversary which will include a HUGE giveaway (seriously, you won’t want to miss it!).
This has been THE BEST holiday season to date… and it’s not even Christmas yet. I wasn’t exactly planning on it, but I decided to do ~all~ the New York City things, including ice skating at just about every rink in the city. I’ve literally lost track of how many times I went but every time someone mentioned they wanted to do it, I was game. (I’m buying ice skates though for next year because I could have purchased like four pairs with the amount of money I spent on stupid rentals.) It’s been a blast though– such a fun winter activity.
I’m also just about done with work stuff for the year. One more shoot tomorrow while I’m in Tampa and then I’m free as a bird! I think I’m going to spend a full day while I’m home sitting on the couch and watching Netflix or something. But I’m also looking forward to seeing my grandma, playing all the games, shopping with my mom and sister, and going to the movies!
(My boyfriend’s parents got me that red coat! I actually had it in my shopping cart for a while and never pulled the trigger! It was the best surprise!!! Just FYI though, it runs very big. I’m wearing a Petite XS and there’s still room with a big sweater on!)
Here’s what was on my radar this week:
ONE // Package Thief vs. Glitter Bomb Trap
I have so many thoughts about this. 1) This guy is AMAZING. He needs his own Netflix show because I would watch it, for sure. I subscribed to his channel– he’s so smart and creative and still entertaining to watch. 2) I think it’s absolutely disgusting that people steal packages. I mean, talk about entitlement. 3) I HATE glitter, but it’s gorgeous in slo-mo.
TWO // How American Girl Dolls Would Decorate If They Lived in Studio Apartments
Have you seen this article floating around? You know your friends and readers get you when you get 34 DMs and 14 text messages with a link to it. While I totally love the idea, I don’t think it’s totally spot on. (But that’s a personal preference and I’m sure my own experiences with the books/dolls factors into that.) Still fun to read!
THREE // Salted Caramel & Milk Chocolate Brownies
These brownies look like the most delicious brownies in the world. My mom usually makes Baker’s One Bowl Brownies, but I think we’re going to have to give this recipe a whirl… Don’t you think?
FOUR // Sarah Hyland On Her Kidney Transplants
I clicked this video because I love Sarah Hyland. (She played Molly in the newer Annie and is also in my favorite SVU episode, ha, not to mention Modern Family is such a great show!) I knew she had struggled with health issues, but wow, this interview gutted me. I clicked it thinking I’d let it play in the background of my computer while I did other things and ended up watching the entire thing and even teared up. I thought it was so raw and emotional and I imagine it would help other people going through similar health crises of their own.
FIVE // Uniqlo Down Jacket
I don’t have this yet, but I think I’m going to buy it when I’m back from Tampa. My friend Daphne was wearing it over her sweater and under her wool coat and I couldn’t believe how thin it was. I think it’s the perfect way to add a bit of warmth to winter jackets without the additional bulk! Can’t wait to try it on!
Have a lovely holiday with your family!

I have that uniqlo jacket and it makes a huge difference in keeping me warm even though it’s so thin. If I wear it under a jacket that normally is not as insulating, I notice if I wear this under I stay extremely warm. I didn’t think I needed it (my mom got it for me) but once I tried it I started wearing it all the time. Would highly recommend.
I SWEAR by the Uniqlo ultra light down jackets!! Growing up in East Asia, everyone I knew wore Uniqlo down jackets. But my mom’s a huge shopper and likes buying different styles of jackets (not that I’m complaining), whereas Uniqlo is more basic, so I never owned my own Uniqlo down jacket. However, I was visiting NYC late autumn of this year and was super cold the whole day out, so as soon as I got home, I was determined to finally get myself a Uniqlo down jacket, because I was missing a jacket for that in-between weather when it wasn’t quite winter yet. The next time I visited NYC happened to be for Thanksgiving and I felt so prepared with my new Uniqlo down jacket. However, it was the second coldest Thanksgiving had since 1901, and unfortunately that down jacket didn’t cut it. I was cold that whole trip and as soon as I got home, I bought a Uniqlo ultra light down vest to layer under my down jacket; my Thanksgiving host told me about how she would always layer a down vest under her down jacket when she walked the dog out at night, and that sounded genius to me. So I’ve been living in my Uniqlo ultra light down jacket and vest ever since! When it’s colder, I’ll pull out my ankle-length ultra light down parka (not Uniqlo), and if I need some extra cosiness, I’ll be layering with my light down vest :3 I don’t think I’ve ever been this prepared for the weather haha // The matching red outfits are so cute!! Happy holidays and have a wonderful blog break 😀 -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey’s

Happy Holidays!
That American Girl apartment decor article was so great! I had the Molly doll and I felt like that’s what I would want in decor!
Is it sad I know the exact SVU episode you’re referencing? Sarah plays a student who is obsessed about doing well at her super competitive school…should I find a new show to watch?! Haha
I love that uniqlo jacket!

Hey! Moxi Skates (famous for their roller skates) sells GORGEOUS ice skates in mint, pink, and poppy red suede through their website. As lovely as classic white Bauers are, the Moxis might be a bit more fun and stylish for you. (They also sell a VERY similar quad roller skate called the Lolly, so you can get your skate fix in the other three seasons too!)
Yes that glitter bomb trap was amazing. I love how creative people are getting with the package thieves now. Thanks for sharing the AG apartment article, I loved it! I don’t totally agree with all of them either but it’s so fun when all of these things cater to our nostalgia – especially Google’s recent Home Alone commercial!
Oh my gosh the Sarah Hyland SVU episode – I know exactly what you’re talking about! Still one of my favorites too (is it weird to have a favorite? Ha!)
I love the American Girl story! I still have my Felicity doll but I think I’m more of a Samantha in this article.
I appreciate the genius idea of layering with a thin down jacket. Moving from FL to NC to Seattle, I need all the cold-weather help I can get!
Happy Holidays to you.
Congrats on 10 years, Carly! That American Girl apartment article was AWESOME! So great to read about my favorite toys as a little girl. XO -Katie-
Love following you on your journey. Congrats on 10 years!
These salted caramel & milk Chocolate Brownies look absolutely fantastic. Beautiful photos, too. I look forward to trying this.
