ON MY RADAR 6.28.24

Happiest Friday! I’m pre-writing this post as we’re traveling this week to Nantucket. It’s a whole lot of logistics traveling with two kids and a dog for a couple of weeks, but it’s going to be well worth the effort. Planning on putting the blog on vacation mode next week for the Fourth of July, but we’ll be back July 8th-ish.

Here’s what has been on my radar this week:

ONE // Muffin Top Strawberry Shortcakes

Strawberry shortcake is one of my very favorite summertime desserts. Usually I go for very simple and traditional ones, but I might make an exception for these muffin top ones! I’m saving this recipe because I may even try to make it while we’re on vacation for a special treat.

TWO // The Glow Down Is the New Glow Up

Love seeing this cultural trend emerging about moving back towards a more natural look. I am the first to admit that sometimes I feel an incredible sense of pressure that I “have” to do things to look better. Dying hair, getting Botox, getting fillers, getting nails done, having extensions, having eyelash extensions, doing a lip flip, getting a spray tan. The list is never ending. I don’t love everything about myself, transparently, but I try every day to just embrace myself.

THREE // Bow Placemats

I saw these on Instagram this week and immediately fell in love. Woven bow placemats! They remind me of the bow plates we had for our wedding. Just more casual and perfect for summer tablescapes. Of course I want them… and maybe the matching napkin rings too…. and the coasters!

FOUR // Reed Diffuser Jar Hack

We save a lot of our jars to reuse for various things, especially the Bonne Maman jam jars! They’re just so beautiful and cute on their own. How brilliant is this little DIY hack to turn them into diffusers. Bonne Maman actually has a whole blog filled with more ideas! I love it.

FIVE // Linen Shift Dresses

There is just nothing chicer than a linen shift dress. Tuckernuck just came out with an utterly gorgeous one, just in time for the dog days of summer. I want each color. Wear on a beach vacation with a pair of flats or out to dinner with a silk scarf and heeled sandals.

I’m a longtime reader (all the way back to your college days) and an infrequent commenter, but I have to say I really love that you embrace your hair color and it’s given me the confidence to keep my hair color even though I started seeing gray hairs as early as age 24. Now I’m 33 and still have the confidence to keep my hair as is despite the pressure society puts on women to keep their grays hidden. I’m on this journey with you and following along in your hair journey has given me so much confidence, thank you!
