I spent the week with Vineyard Vines and The Moorings in the Bahamas this week. The timing couldn’t have been better with the snow storm that came through earlier this week. Mackenzie, Kelly, Sean, and I have been having a blast! It’s been a little “chilly” here by Bahamas standards but we have no grounds to complain.
The best part is that you can win a similar trip by entering here! It’s so fun and definitely a different experience than staying in a hotel. We’ve been island hopping and seeing different sites every day.

ONE // Kiehl’s Sunscreen
Considering that my skin hasn’t had much exposure to the sun for the past few months, I have been extra good about applying sunscreen while down in the Bahamas. This face sunscreen by Kiehl’s continues to be my favorite. It is THE best. Super, super light and even works perfectly under makeup.
TWO // Vineyard Vines Gingham Dress
The gingham dress I wore on our first full day in the Bahamas is everything. I have been eyeing it for a while and it’s such a fun summer dress. It leans towards the coverup side of dresses but can be dressed up slightly with wedges and a light denim jacket.
THREE // Mini Carly, American Girl Prepster
Sydney, a reader of the blog, sent me the sweetest email last week with images she took (she is VERY talented, wow!) of an American Girl doll she dressed up as me. I was unbelievably impressed with the detailing. I couldn’t help but share her Flickr album with my family and friends, and I’m sharing it here today because it’s amazing. She totally nailed all of my looks perfectly.
FOUR // Scalloped Sandals
I cannot believe how affordable and adorable these scalloped sandals are. My foot is still in a lot of pain (not broken, just lingering tendonitis) and so heels are pretty much out of the picture for me right now. I’ve been looking at low heel sandals as an alternative because it keeps most of the weight off the pain point.
FIVE // Hippo Love
Fiona the hippo has an admirer! Timothy, a hippo in San Antonio, just sent Fiona a love letter. Baby hippos are just the cutest, right?
Happy Friday, Carly! Love the things you’re sharing this week, including the Khiel’s sunscreen! I recently became a member of their products this year in January and am basically exclusive to using their stuff now. I’ve wanted to try out their sunscreen forever! 🙂

Allie, thank you so much!! I’m the one who took the photos–and to answer your questions about the outfits, my mom made 99% (including the dogs!!). I’m thrilled beyond words that Carly shared the album on her blog. So happy you like the pictures 🙂

Talbot’s has really cute scalloped sandals right now too, with a slightly lower heel. They’re more expensive though.
