Preppy Desktop, iPhone, iPad, and FB Wallpaper

I feel like absolutely everything is clicking into place. I knew all along, of course, that everything would work out. (And everyone seemed to say that… “Don’t worry, it will all work out.”) Well looks like “everyone” was right. But, man, it was difficult to get here.
I definitely have a long way to go, but I feel much much much better about where I am now and where I am going in the future.
I’ve had more than a few opportunities to “settle.” I could have easily taken a handful of jobs… but they weren’t me and I definitely would not have been happy in the longrun. I’m so thankful that I stuck to my guns and maintained what I’ve always said, “Live your dreams.” Some people say to follow your dreams, but it seems to passive. Like dreams are something that are out there and you just have to march along without a say or influence.
Living your dreams is actively seeking and creating and making things happen! There’s work involved. And frustration and dead ends… but also success and happiness in the end.
When I had these opportunities that would have made me feel secure and safe in the short term… I knew I had to listen to my heart and wait for what I knew would be right around the corner.

I'm in the same boat. I know what I want to do and where I want to be and have felt a little discouraged when other people seem to be finding jobs left and right. But I've had to remind myself that I could take these jobs I'm offered but have no interest in just like the others! Just waiting for that perfect opportunity.. it's tough but worth it!

So many people, myself included, seem to be in a state of transition and crossroads…having tons of opportunities but not necessarily the right opportunity. I left a job I loved in May (contract was over), got another job in June that didn't make me happy (last day was Wednesday) and I started another job with an organization that means a lot to me.

I'm happy to hear that things have fallen into place for you and that you're living your dream!

I am so happy everything is working out for you… I know that this time in your life is exciting, but scary at times. I will be graduating in December and cannot wait, but I'm a little nervous at times about finding the "right" job for me.

Thanks for the new Facebook header! So cute!

I love it when you post wallpaper designs! Maybe next time you can publish one that would work with twitter! 🙂

I think this may be my favourite post in the history of College Prep. I love that you differentiate between "following" and "living" your dreams. Too often we are complicit to let life happen to us rather than creating the path we want. I think there is a little bit of both involved in achieving your ideal life, realizing that you can't control everything that happens to you and some things will happen as happy accidents, but that you should always be working for what you want.

I could not be happier for you, Carly! I'm sure I'm not alone in saying that I can't wait to hear about all of the exciting things that are happening in your life.
