I think one of the things that I always forget is just how capable I am. And I have a feeling that most people feel the same way from time to time. I tend to get really overwhelmed by certain tasks, but then (by what seems like a miracle), I get through it.
The first time I remember feeling capable came immediately after a time when I felt 100% helpless. I was alone on campus getting ready to move back home after the school year ended. (Seriously, it was late stay housing and I swear every single person had already gone home for the summer or had otherwise disappeared.) I had shipped some of my boxes home, but most of them were still with me in my tiny dorm. I packed everything up and then realized I somehow had to get five sixty-five pound boxes from my dorm to the UPS store off-campus.
Now, this is Georgetown… it’s literally called “The Hilltop.” Of course, my dorm was behind the hill. And the only way to get over the hill with this extremely difficult-to-maneuver cart was to go U-P.
I just wanted to cry. Or hunt down Harry Potter and steal some Floo powder.
Even so, I trudged (quite literally) up that hill. My Blackberry fell out of my pocket midway, but I couldn’t stop to pick it up out of fear that the cart was going to tumble and roll right back down again. I made it up that hill and walked into the UPS store a mere fifteen minutes before it closed.
But I made it. (And I ultimately got my Blackberry back from a stranger the next morning.)
After that, I got it in my head that I was going to be capable of absolutely anything I wanted to (or needed to) do. Because I do forget this from time to time, I decided to make this wallpaper with a great quotation by Robert Schuller: “What would you attempt to do if you knew you could not fail?”
(Also, how amazing are these wallpapers??? Jessica of Jessica Marie Designs made them specifically for College Prepster!!! I am obsessed! Jack Rogers, Longchamps, bows, and bubble necklaces!)

PS Another big thank you to Jessica Marie Designs for making these wallpapers for me!
OMG that is so so cute! Definitely going on my desktop!
Glad I could help and that you love the design Carly!
I totally relate to you. I constantly feel that I am not capable or that I will not accomplish certain tasks, especially during this past year since I started my first job out of college. Many things seem impossible until they are done. And when they are done I can't help but feel pride.
P.S. Trying and failing is better than never trying at all.

I love this! Could you get it with the dimensions of the iPhone 5?
Very nice. Love these wallpapers.
Yay!!! I'm so excited for these wallpapers!!! I'm using them EVERYWHERE!
I love it! Thanks so much 🙂
oh man, I can for sure relate to experiencing newfound confidence and indepedence after overcoming times of helplessness! It's so motivating and exciting.
Cute!!!! Thank you!
I love the wallpaper, Carly! They did a great job designing it. It is now the back ground on my iphone and laptop now. This post came at just the right time in my life. I have so much going on that I just want to give up because I THINK I am unable to do it. Thanks for the motivation! You are amazing!
love this wallpaper! It's my iPhone background already 🙂

Love the sentiment behind this. I think the mentality that we CAN'T do something is a waste of time and prevents us from actually doing it. The mental block rather than a real barrier is the problem most times. I'm surprised no one has mentioned it, but the Twitter header doesn't have the quote.
