Remember last year when I found the perfect “going out top”? It remains one of my go-to tops for nights out when it’s warm. I always throw it into suitcases too while I’m traveling just in case I want something simple– and chic– to wear at night. Literally the easiest thing to slip into.

Going Out Top

I saw that J. Crew Factory had a scalloped version of the top and I just had to give it a try. It has nearly hundred reviews with a 4.5 average… and it lives up to the hype. I was kind of expecting a flimsy camisole, but it’s actually beautifully constructed. It’s even lined! It’s not a silk, which seems like a downgrade, but honestly? It’s a much more durable top. No need to worry about snagging on jewelry or wrinkling that easily.

The reviews mentioned that it runs a little big, but I’d go with your regular size still. I sized up and while it still works, I adjusted the straps in the back and it’s very flowy on me (even with a larger chest).

I absolutely love the scalloped neckline. It’s not ~too~ scalloped and looks like a beautiful design detail.

Also still loving my denim jacket! I think it’s going to end up being one of my favorite pieces of clothing this summer. It’s the best way to wear a coat when it’s still a little chilly without looking like you’re still dressed for winter.

I have this cami in red and absolutely love it! Watch out because it definitely does still snag even though it’s not silk; I’m debating whether my snagged one is salvageable or not :/

I have that top in 3 colours, it’s a total favourite of mine as well! I remember when you had posted about the original one and I came across the Jcrew factory one and went for it. Love it! Hope they keep carrying it as a staple, I’d get all the colours!

Hi Carly – I’ve seen the cami in the store before and for some reason, I never gave it a chance. It looked so great on you that I ordered it. It arrived today and it’s perfect! Lovely outfit. I like that top. I’m also “jeans” girl. Although my jeans collection is not big but I always choose jeans to wear whenever I could.
