We have one month until the first day of spring, and now that we’ve celebrated Rory’s first birthday, I’m counting down the days. In the winter, I tend to maintain more of a capsule wardrobe, but once things thaw, I try to be more open to cute outfits that incorporate color, texture, and pattern. Being in the Northeast, of course there’s no guarantee that the weather will have warmed up by then… I wish we had a spring break trip planned to give us something definitive to look forward to! We’re hoping to put a family vacation in Florida on the books once my parents wrap up their house renovations, but until our next trip, I’ll be living vicariously through everyone else’s upcoming spring break outfits. In case you’re looking for some inspiration, these are the pieces that would be topping my packing lists!
MINI SHIRT DRESS // EYELET MARY-JANES ($60!) // RUFFLE SLIDES ($25!) // EMBROIDERED MIDI DRESS
FLORAL STRAP TANK TOP ($60!) // WOVEN HANDBAG // TIERED MAXI DRESS // CHECKERED BATHING SUIT
EYELET BUTTON DOWN ($25!) // FLOWER STUDS ($68!) // COLLARED BLOUSE // EMBROIDERED SLIDES ($25!)
MINI SHIRT DRESS // I’m such a sucker for new dresses, especially ones with a fun/unexpected detail. In this case, it’s the color blocked stripes. I’m also a fan of the puff sleeves and drop waist!
EYELET MARY-JANES ($60!) // At first glance, these flats look white, but they’re actually a very pretty, very subtle blue! Unexpected and so chic with neutrals and bold colors alike.
RUFFLE SLIDES ($25!) // My feet grew during both pregnancies and I’ve spent the last year on the hunt for new shoes. These look expensive but are an absolute steal, so you can slip them on for beach days without worrying about them getting ruined! Also, you need to stee the blue they come in… it’s SO GOOD.
EMBROIDERED MIDI DRESS // Is it just me or do Tuckernuck’s designs get better and better every season? I already own too many blue dresses, but this one is SO different from anything else I own and the embroidered floral detailing is just stunning. It truly feels like “resort wear.”
FLORAL STRAP TANK TOP ($60!) // You guys… How cute! I LOVE that the spaghetti straps are decorated with little flowers– hey make a simple cami top feel sculptural. If you prefer a more minimalist look, you can just throw on a jacket or sweater to hide the flowers. Easy peasy.
WOVEN HANDBAG // One of my spring break essentials! This specific bag stands out to me because of the different weaves that add even more than the typical amount of texture (plus, the floral lining is too cute). It’s also not so beachy that it won’t get day-to-day wear once you’re back home.
TIERED MAXI DRESS // Between the pastels, the tiers, and the embroidered accents, this is definitely one of those Insta-worthy spring break dresses. You can wear it for a special occasion with nude heels or out to dinner with woven sandals. Adorable either way!
CHECKERED BATHING SUIT // The older I get, the more I appreciate a sleek one-piece with an open back. Minnow’s fit SO well and are some of the only swimsuits I buy, especially because you can always do a matching set with your son and/or daughter.
EYELET BUTTON DOWN ($25!) // One step up from the typical white button down, I’m not sure what I love more: the eyelet fabric or the scalloped hem. All it needs is some denim shorts to go with it.
FLOWER STUDS ($68!) // There’s no easier or better way to make an outfit feel fresh than with new accessories. These earrings take a classic material and make them fun!
COLLARED BLOUSE // This might be one of my favorite white tops on the market right now… I love the ruffled Peter Pan collar, the front pocket, the elastic sleeves, the embroidery, everything! So many potential outfit ideas but I’m imagining a denim mini skirt and the $25 slides next to it on the collage.
EMBROIDERED SLIDES ($25!) // Again, a steal! The embroidered flowers add such a playful pop of color without leaning too juvenile.
I love the ruffled dress! So fun for a day in the sun!
