TRANSITIONAL WINTER TO SPRING WARDROBE PIECES

After the rush of the holidays, I find I’m not usually as enchanted with winter as I may have been before. Luckily, it seems like brands agree– they’ve already started ushering in a new season! So many of my go-to retailers seem more than ready for the spring season, even though we won’t be able to really rely on warmer weather for at least a couple of months. During this time of year, I like to shop for spring pieces I can wear now, in addition to winter pieces I can wear later. Work smarter, not harder, right?

CASHMERE SHIRT ($50!) // BUTTON SWEATSHIRT ($45!) // VEJA SNEAKERS

CROPPED BARN JACKET ($45!) // SHORT TRENCH COAT // POINTELLE SWEATER

MARY-JANE BALLET FLAT ($70!) // CANVAS TOTE ($43!) // SWEATER JACKET

CASHMERE SHIRT ($50!) // A $50 cashmere sweater is pretty much only possible at Quince, and the good news is, they’re great actually super high quality. This one comes in a lot of neutral colors, plus fun hues like rosy pink. It works as an unexpected pop of color for your winter wardrobe– a great option for a lightweight base layer– and for spring outfits, all you have to do is shrug off your coat and throw on something like a midi skirt instead.

BUTTON SWEATSHIRT ($45!) // Instead of a chunky knit sweater, I usually like to throw on something cozy and casual. The gold buttons are a great way to make this sweatshirt feel more elevated, and it’s really one of the more versatile pieces you can incorporate into a capsule wardrobe.

VEJA SNEAKERS // Au revoir, heavy winter boots! It’s always the perfect time for Vejas, and this specific color palette is really calling my name. As long as it’s not snowing, you can always pulls these out during cold weather, just as frequently as ankle boots or even knee-high boots.

CROPPED BARN JACKET ($45!) // Unless you’re new to this side of the internet, you’re definitely familiar with barn jackets, ha! I stopped wearing my denim jacket years ago and love that this more industrial fashion trend is back again. You can make it one of your winter layers over a thick sweater or try something thinner underneath for your spring wardrobe.

SHORT TRENCH COAT // I’m such a sucker for the classic trench coat. It’s one of those transitional pieces you can pull out almost any time of the year! I love it with a pair of white jeans and a silk scarf in fun colors to boot.

POINTELLE SWEATER // Has anyone else noticed that pointelle is making a comeback?! Despite being made of all neutral shades, this chic crewneck sweater immediately caught my eye with the unique stripes. For warmer days, just drape it over your shoulders instead of actually wearing it!

MARY-JANE BALLET FLAT ($70!) // Ballet flats, in my opinion, are foolproof. You can wear them with oversized blazers for work or white pants come summer (or both!).

CANVAS TOTE ($43!) // Does this design not look way more expensive?! The casual canvas has such a classic look to it, and at only $43, is one of the easiest ways to elevate your transitional winter to spring wardrobe.

SWEATER JACKET // The refreshing blue, the double breasted gold buttons… all this sweater needs is a pair of jeans and it’s good to go, regardless of where it’s at in the transition period.
