When I say transitioning, I mean the weather. In my life, at this current moment, no news is good news! Spring is one of the hardest seasons to dress for in NYC I think. It’s frequently wet, pretty chilly, and can be gloomy at times. A few nice days are sprinkled in there, but whipping out cute dresses is better suited for May/June than March/April here.
I tend to rely on uniforming my wardrobe for these months. This look from last week is one of my go-tos. And I’m sharing another favorite today. To say that I’ve worn this exact outfit too many times to remember in just the past month. I’m obsessed.
It’s simple, just like I like my outfits. It’s comfortable, just like I insist my outfits be. And it’s just chic enough, just like I pray my outfits might be.
This is just my favorite things from head to toe. It may as well be an ode to a few of my favorite things in fact, step aside Maria Von Trapp.
Skinny jeans, a striped tee, and a slouchy (adorable) coat. This is how I would like to dress every single day of my life, please.
I have to tell you, I’m truly in love with BaubleBar’s tassel pieces right now. I’ve honestly been stockpiling different necklaces and have amassed quite the collection. One of my favorites, which happens to be on sale, is the Puck Tassel Strand necklace. I think it’s extra fun on top of the stripes.
As always, my monogrammed crossbody makes an appearance. If I’m wearing anything navy, this is my bag of choice.
To be honest, when the weather gets slightly unpredictable, it's better to stick with the trusty uniform! You know it's comfortable and will get you through whatever the weather is like now or twenty minutes from now! xx, Mikkaela The Southwestern Prepster
I've been so in love with that coat ever since you featured it on Instagram! And real question… are you about to get hit by a car in some of these pictures? Because we would miss you! (But really, how does that work?)
Coats are my vice! I'm gonna spend these last few weeks wearing them as often as I can before the weather starts warming up 😛 And when it finally does, I'll be ready to start wearing dresses! Can't wait to have my legs out again haha. -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey's

This outfit really is the cutest thing. I would die to own that coat! Then again, I probably wouldn't get too much use out of it here in Atlanta. Also, that tassel necklace really is the perfect piece to complement the rest of the outfit.
This look is so cute. I did something similar with a Breton striped top! However, it's a little warmer down by me, so I can wear short sleeves already!
Love your outfit! Northern springs can be ridiculously hard to dress for! For me, I just keep wearing the same things I wore during the winter, but remove a a layer, like wearing a blazer instead of a full coat.
When your toothbrush (@shoptrask!) is so cute you ALMOST don’t want to use it! I considered “saving” it (for what? I don’t know) and decided to ignore my instinct and enjoy it every day! I often have to remind myself about the number of stickers I didn’t use as a kid because I was “saving” them… or stationery collecting dust in a drawer because I was “saving” them… or candles that went unlit because I was “saving” them… or even a cute outfit I was “saving” for a special occasion. Trying to be better about using the things I have and love without guilt!!
I’ve been loving wearing my scarf collection and I’ve been getting questions about how I tie them! This is probably the way I wear it most- it’s super easy and the trick is to not be overly fussy with it. Go for it and zhuzh it up a little but don’t make it too perfect! Goal is effortless!
Fold the silk scarf across the middle to create a long triangle. Holding the two corners, twist the triangle back *towards* you a few times. While holding the corners, wrap behind your neck crossing behind you and pulling the corners back to the front of your neck. Tie once, then again to secure. I like to tuck mine into a button down!
PS I got this Hermes scarf as a souvenir while in Paris!
A wild Saturday night around here… and I wouldn’t want it any other way! A relaxing shower, clean hair, cozy bedtime routine, sourdough, laundry, a clean playroom, mahjong, (a little sweet treat… or two), needlepoint, skincare, and a good book! What could be better???
An evening routine as a mom of two with timestamps!
@mackenziechilds has done it again! Say hello to Mocha Check, the latest pattern in the MacKenzie-Childs family. I am loving how the neutral but warm tones brighten up my office space! Swipe to see how I’ve incorporated the pieces throughout my office. #MCPartner #MCMochaCheck
