Valentine’s Day Dress

I will likely be having a super low-key Valentine’s Day. I might get together with a few of my girlfriends to go see the new 50 Shades movie that week, haha! But otherwise no real plans.

But… if you do have plans and want a red dress. This sweater dress is gorgeous! It’s actually a great dress option for any day, Valentine or not.

I picked this coat up last year during an end of season sale. I had been searching for a camel top coat for a while and when it went on sale, I couldn’t resist. I mostly wear it with dressier outfits and almost always when I have to wear something a little more professional. Definitely a coat I’m glad to have in my closet. They have a slightly darker version out this year, although it’s sold out in most sizes and here’s the Factory version in navy (all sizes). And if you really want camel, here’s a gorgeous one from Lauren Ralph Lauren.

Sweater dresses are always comfortable. Draper James makes a great one– I love the navy one I have from last year so I knew this one would be just as great. It has a nice stretch to it and lays in such a nice, smooth way. Plus the detailing on the sleeves is so sweet.

Such a cute dress! Seeing 50 Shade’s with friends is definitely a real plan! I actually have nothing yet planned with my husband, but our trick is to celebrate the day after, so we don’t have to compete for reservations!

I love how classic this outfit is. The red is a perfect pop for Valentine’s day but the classic black pumps, bag and camel coat are just such timeless pieces. Thanks for the inspiration!

Looking pretty sassy there Miss Carly in that last photo! Love it and love that dress. I’ve been reading your blog forever and so enjoy your writing and tips. I’m sure many of your readers are much younger but your blog is one of the favorites of this 60 year old mom!
