Clearly I was not very…. inventive with my outfits this week. But keeping it real 😉 In my defense, it’s been grey and gloomy. Like gloomy gloomy. Some rain, some wet snow. We hunkered down this past weekend at home too for some extra family time.
LAST WEEK’S WIN: Jack got to have a sleepover with his cousins! This was a win/win for everyone. We were getting photo and video updates of all their adventures and he had a blast. Literally smiling from ear to ear in every. single. photo. And Mike and I got to have a quiet night at home sans baby. We were supposed to go into the city with friends, but opted for a low key night instead. The best part?! Having a quiet Saturday morning at home with nothing to do. (This is the greatest gift you can give a parent really, as great as the babysitting at night is, it’s having the next morning “off” that really is luxurious!!)
THIS WEEK’S GOAL: I sat down and mapped out “treats” for myself for the week. Sounds so lame, but man, winter is just a big struggle for me. I literally wrote down “London Fog @ 1pm” on my calendar on Tuesday, “Long Walk at the Gym” on Thursday, “Margarita” on Friday, etc. Anyway, looking forward to it all.

hi Carly. The other day when I was shopping, I saw some kids sweatshirts at target. They were pine green amd said “cousin crew”. Perfect for St. Patrick’s Day! They would be adorable for your little crew in NJ💚
I am feeling the same way about winter right now! I signed up for some in person yoga classes which has helped, but I love your idea of mini daily treats too.
Hi Carly,
I love your outfits and your blog! I live in New England and can’t fathom how you don’t wear huge wooly socks like I do, and cute little shoes indoors. I must know, are you an indoor shoe person and then have big winter boots you put on when you leave the house?
Only someone who is equally traumatized by winter would notice this detail and need to know your secret, haha.
I wear my ugg boots a lot if we’ll actually be outside. But usually we’re just going to activities or in our house or at someone else’s house and I HATE having the put boots on and off! All of Jack’s activities are socks (or swim is sandals!) so I just find flats and sneakers easier! (And it’s been in the 40s/50s a lot.)
But I do have boots for when I need them 🥰
I love the idea of scheduling treats for yourself throughout the week! You have inspired me to do the same to look forward to something throughout the dreary weather!
So cute!! Margaritas are the best, and so is that black and white sweater!! What great outfits this week!! Love!!
I feel so sad every week when your pickleball is cancelled due to weather!!!
I feel this reference to treats for weekly motivation DEEPLY! I’ve got work outs and needlepoint breaks on my calendar to get me through these January weeks!
