WEEK OF OUTFITS 3.30.21

This week has been a whirlwind of positivity and it’s been fun to dip into some of the warmer-weather outfits. You know I love my sweaters… but by the end of March, I’m definitely ready to move on.

LAST WEEK’S WIN: We “opened” our backyard up for the season. Nothing super fancy, but now that the snow has melted, we are officially back in business for hanging out in the backyard. Mike’s been working to get the yard and what landscaping we have in tip top shape too. We had our first barbecue outside last week and spent Saturday soaking up the sun in lawn chairs!

THIS WEEK’S GOAL: I have a somewhat self-imposed writing deadline for March 31 (and the big official one at the end of April)…. so I really just have writing on my brain. Ready to crank through what I need to crank through. I finally started to see the light at the end of the tunnel, and I know it’s going to feel so good when I get to the end of this.  The goal would just to be to stay on track and keep my “eyes on the prize.”

TUESDAY

This felt like a miracle day to me. I woke up in a great mood. It was gorgeous out. I felt REALLY productive. For the first time in over a year, I went to a local cafe to work. I was overwhelmed with gratitude too– especially for our local business owners and restauranteurs who have had such a tough year. It felt amazing to be “back” in action, enjoying a salad and a latte with my laptop.

WEDNESDAY

Spent the day working from home again. Nothing too exciting. And then I went to my volunteer shift at the food bank. So many people there are fully vaccinated (or on their way to being fully vaccinated) and you can 100% feel a shift in the mood. It’s been so solitary and it’s nice to feel comfortable to chat a tiny bit more. (Everyone is still masked and socially distanced, of course.)

THURSDAY

I worked in the morning, then had a therapy session, then more work…. and then I made the four hour round trip drive to southern NJ for my second vaccine shot. Did I cry tears of happiness? Sure did. It was amazing to hear how many more doses they’re able to do now– they said they were doing 6k a day!!!!

FRIDAY

We had the big 20-week scan on Friday morning. I was relieved for the timing because even though I was really confident in the vaccine…. I was still anxious to make sure the baby was fine! And he was! My sister in law had told me how exciting their 20-week scan was so I was jazzed. I held it together surprisingly well (lol), but when the technician switched from the regular ultrasound to the 3D imagery I started to sob. It is mind-blowing to me how we could see his face so clearly.

SATURDAY

Saturday was glorious. I met up with my sister in law for an outdoor brunch (no boys, no babies) so it was really nice to catch up for proper girl time. And then it was so warm out, I plopped myself outside in our yard for the whole afternoon. I napped, I read, I even meditated. Just felt amazing.

Can you share your experience with the second dose of the vaccine? Did you have any side effects? Mine is coming up in several weeks and I’m a bit nervous.

I shared on Instagram stories– but I had a sore arm for both doses and no other side effects. Felt completely fine!

Is it weird that I desperately want that striped shirt from Hatch even though I’m not pregnant… lol

It definitely works as a non-pregnancy shirt too. I plan on keeping it forever it’s so good!
