TRANSITIONAL FALL OUTFITS

I know, I know… Summer isn’t over yet! But tomorrow is the first day of August and retailers have officially started releasing their early fall collections. The “in-between” weather, when it’s after Labor Day but still hot, can be a little awkward to dress for, so I put together some transitional fall outfits for inspiration. I think my favorite is the first one!

I don’t know how many striped shirts I’ve owned over the years. They’re just the best! The puff sleeves make this one feel more dressy, and it comes in a handful of other colors. Pearl studs, of course, are equally timeless!! They’re a simple staple and go with just about everything. The hair scarf brings in some more pattern, a summery floral in a fall color palette. One of my favorite pieces in this post is the denim mini skirt. The buttons and front pockets give off a vintage vibe but it still feels current. I gasped when I saw this Edie bag– I have a green croc handbag from Neely & Chloe (now sold out) and it’s one of my favorites. If I didn’t though, I’d definitely scoop this one up! And of course, classic white sneakers can be worn with anything.

A short sleeve cardigan is perfect for fall transitional outfits– it’s cozy, but you won’t overheat! The scallops are (obviously) my favorite detail. J.Crew sent me the navy version of this midi skirt a couple years ago, but I’m loving the light khaki color too. Tuckernuck has the best affordable silk scarves, and this one is absolutely beautiful. Looks like Tory Burch but for way cheaper!! You can tie it in your hair or around your neck. A few influencers I know have this little bag and they all LOVE it. Looks just like a mini Kelly and the gold foil initials are *chef’s kiss.* Flats are my footwear of choice, and this pair is simple, chic, and 41% off (a steal)!!

I had to start with the pearl bow earrings, right?! They’re too cute and only $15. The demi-boot crop is one of my favorite denim styles J.Crew makes. It’s not a wide leg and it’s a not a skinny– it’s just right. This pair’s wash is perfect for daily wear. The lady jacket cardigan was the base for this transitional fall outfit. It reminds me of the yellow shift dress I wore recently– a fun pop of color in a classic silhouette!! You can button it up and wear it alone, or put on the crewneck t-shirt and drape the cardigan over your shoulders. Talbots, in my opinion, is super underrated. Sometimes it takes some digging, but you can always find gems like these navy boucle mules!
