CHRISTMAS TREE ORNAMENTS

I am getting so excited for Christmas after seeing all of the cute ornaments! I couldn’t resist rounding up a few of my favorites to share with you that would make a beautiful addition to any tree or a fun option to bring to an ornament exchange.

Last year I decided to decorate our tree with burgundy tones for a warmer approach and added a dried orange garland.  I got basic burgundy ornaments and then used our mini gold ornaments that I’ve had for years and years. My mom and I made some bows with velvet ribbon, which we just tied right onto tree branches. It was simple, yet perfect to me! But there’s also something I love about sentimental ornaments so we usually will pop a few of those on another small tree in our dining room.

I think it’s so fun to pick out a few special ornaments each year, that represent a favorite memory or hobby. It could be as simple as an ice cream cone for the spontaneous family ice cream shop runs we made this summer or this felt dinosaur for our day trips to the Museum of Natural Science. The seafaring bear in a boat reminds me of the Nantucket row boat and since this was our first summer with both of the boys on Nantucket I want to get one to commemorate our first trip. I love that each ornament tells a small story, and it’s fun to look back over the years and reminisce when decorating the tree.

I came across a tiny sourdough starter ornament (hard to resist!) and I think I need it to commemorate my sourdough baking obsession I picked up this year, ha! I also thought this pickleball player ornament was adorable! It’s part of a hobby ornament series that I just think is the cutest idea. I love any hobby related ornament, so I’m also a big fan of this stack of books, yarn with knitting needles, and the needlepoint golf cart with a Christmas tree on top.

My parents bought me an ornament every year that was “about my year” and that was the one gift that we got to open on Christmas Eve – so fun to have them all and remember what each one represents now as an adult, plus you have a really good starter set of meaningful ornaments as an adult. Definitely a tradition that I want to do with my own kids someday!
