A SIMPLE SUMMER VACATION PACKING LIST

Packing seems to be one of those tasks you either love or loathe. I’m pretty sure we’ve all waited until the last minute to start packing at some point, only to throw in the towel five minutes in and grab random things from your closet. Or those times when you overpack but still somehow forget the one thing you actually need. Having a simple packing list you can use as a base for any vacation will make packing easier and take away some of the stress leading up to a trip. So whether you’re planning a weekend away at the lake, or a trip to Nantucket, use this list as a guide to get started!

SUMMER VACATION PACKING LIST

A SIMPLE SUMMER VACATION PACKING LIST

Earrings // Clutch // Striped T-Shirt // Sunglasses // Sunhat

Smocked Dress // Canvas Tote // White Jeans // Sweater

Jean Shorts // Jack Rogers // White Sneakers // Silk Hair Tie

Straw Tote // PJs // White Dress // Swimsuit // White Slides

An easy way to make packing a little less daunting is to break up your list into sections by occasion. If I were heading to Nantucket for a weekend, I would write out all of the activities I need to pack for (ex: beach, shopping, bike ride, dinner). Once I have a better idea of what I’ll be doing, I can take that into account when deciding what outfits I want to bring.

I also recommend sticking to things you can mix and match to save space. Most importantly don’t bring anything you don’t already wear at home. We all have that dress or top in the back of our closet we bought on a whim and never wore. It’s tempting to bring it just in case, but I can guarantee you won’t end up wearing it on vacation either, so stick to your favorites that you know you already like.

Bonus tip: Pack an empty duffle bag if you’re planning on shopping and already have a full suitcase. It’s better to be safe than sorry, plus it’s never fun to end a vacation with an overweight checked bag haha!
