An Unexpected Holiday Dress with Nordstrom

When I moved to Connecticut, I realized just how many Little Black Dresses I have. I found it funny as I packed them in boxes and a little absurd as I unpacked them for my new closet. The “collection” is out of control and I promised myself that I wouldn’t buy a new one without donating an existing one. The thing is… I love my LBDs. They’re classic, no-brainer options I can turn to when I feel like I have no idea what to wear. The ones I currently have range from professional to flirty to downright fancy. But they’re predictable for me.
When Nordstrom asked me to share a holiday look, I wanted to something a little outside of what I’d typically reach for (a little black dress) or what I immediately think of when I think holiday (red/plaid). One of my biggest issues with holiday dresses is that they’re difficult to wear outside of, well, the holidays.
Then I found this dress and pretty much fell in love. It is a dress I’d probably admire on a hanger but not buy… I’m so glad I did though.
The lace is multicolored and feels festive without being over-the-top holiday. The whole time I wore it, I couldn’t help but think of all the times this dress will work. It’s conservative (with the length of the hemline and long sleeves) so it’s perfect for work events. It can be dressed up with heels or dressed down with cute flats. You can keep things neutral (like I did) or make the dress pop by bringing out the colors with your accessories.
(And it has pockets.)
I didn’t want to overdo it on the jewelry, so I wore a monogrammed necklace peeking out from the collar, a single bar ring, and sparkly dome studs.

The dress is super cute on you. Personally, I don't think I could pull it off. And the price tag is enough to make me back away slowly. But I'm glad you found something that looks great on you and can be worn for the holidays or any other time of year. In fact, it would look really cute in the spring/summer too.
