Not going to lie, I believe that this absolutely constitutes as breaking news.
THEY ARE REMAKING THE ANNIE MOVIE.
Did I just squeal at my desk? YES. Did I just watch the video four times? YES. Will I be going to see it the day it comes out? Absolutely.
I typically don’t love remakes. But I think this is a great remake in that it’s definitely trying not to be the original version, just redone with minor changes. It’s in present day which I think totally takes the themes of Annie without being an obnoxious remake. Like, for example, we saw Annie on Broadway last summer and the Brooklyn accents and redone “Hardknock Life” did not fly with me.

I think the little girl playing Annie is absolutely darling, but the trailer didn't sell me at all. I mean, Cameron Diaz as Miss Hannigan? Please.
I didn't Even know they were making (another) remake. It actually looks like it's going to be fantastic! I definitely like that they stuck with present times and changed the movie to reflect that.
