Every September, I start looking forward to apple picking. I don’t even know why it makes me so happy, but it does.
This year, I went with Carter to take some fun photos and to bring some apples home, of course. I actually had so many apples that I had bags to give away to my friends! (Don’t worry, I saved quite a few for myself!)
My favorite place to pick apples is, without a doubt, Fishkill Farms. I’ve been going there for years and have picked strawberries, apples, and blueberries. It’s one of the most well-kept farms, and it’s catered to families without being super cheesy. They have a huge selection of apples, too. We went in the middle of the week to avoid weekend crowds, but it was a holiday, so there were tons of kids off of school. Even though the parking lot looked so crowded, we barely saw people in the orchard because it’s just that big. Room for everyone. (Now, the line for hot apple cider doughnuts was a different story!)
We must have gone at a great time in the season because the whole orchard smelled amazing. It truly smelled like a giant apple scented candle.
It’s always fun to plan outfits for picking apples too. Sure, you could wear anything out there, and maybe athletic clothes are more practical (haha), but it’s fun to play the part a little.
I wore this KJP swear that is so comfortable. It’s one of those things I reach for consistently when it’s cool out. Looks great dressed down with skinny jeans and sneaks, too. My skirt is nearly sold out online, but you may be able to find it in a store. I did find a super similar corduroy version though!
I’m telling you, you cannot beat Fishkill Farms. Just look at that view. (Even though I’m not getting married anytime soon– and I don’t even know if I would want a traditional wedding tbh– I think Fishkill would be a prime location for one. If you’re looking for a venue, consider Fishkill… and then invite me 😜).
How perfect is this rope bracelet? The pearl knot is just the cutest.

Looks like you two had a lovely time! Weren’t you cold in that skirt, though?? I would have been freezing *brr*
it was almost 80 degrees that day 😜 I was more warm in the sweater than cold in the skirt!
Love this look! I found this skirt that also looks similar if people are looking for a cheaper option – I think it’s 40% off today too 🙂

I am in love this outfit. I recently bought a similar skirt from Old Navy. Someone asked what shoes I would wear and my automatic reply was, “my hunters!” But now I’m totally stumped on a slightly dressier shoe option. Any thoughts on what type/color of cute flats would go with this skirt? Black booties are an option, but I’ll probably wear the skirt with navy tops more often than black. Help!
I would go with leather clogs for a dressier option.
We just went apple picking too! Love your bracelet and your hair looks so pretty!

I absolutely love picking apples, but it can be a bit of a hike outside of the city to find a great place. Love this outfit (mismatched boots and all!).
