I have to admit, this Florida girl may not love snow, but I can do the rain. NYC has already gotten a head start on the whole April showers thing. (It absolutely poured on Saturday and we had one lightning/thunder on Sunday.) If this signals the end of winter and the beginning of spring? Color me happy.
(Also, Mother Nature, feel free to have May flowers make an early arrival as well.)
The one major difference about Florida and NYC rain, however, is that we spend a lot of time commuting by foot here. In Florida, we duck in and out of our cars and parking garages. (Except for high school. Sheesh. Those outdoor hallways and weeks on rain on end always meant soggy shoes and wet hemlines.)
I tend to go through umbrellas like it’s my job… but mostly because I buy the cheapies from Duane Reade basically every time it rains. (#CaughtOffGuard.) After this weekend, and two seriously destroyed $5 drugstore umbrellas, I’m ready to invest in a cute umbrella or two.

I SWEAR by my J. Crew umbrella!! It took me through my last two years of college in Madison (the lake wind was not kind to umbrellas but mine NEVER flipped inside out). I love the lime striped one from J.Crew and Madewell has an adorable navy/white stripe version as well as a red gingham one!

I have a cute little Barbour umbrella, but really hardly ever use anything but one of my Dad's hundreds of golf umbrellas! I hate having to worry about wind with a dinky umbrella, and I hate having to decide if I want my pants or bag wet because other umbrellas are just too small to cover everything!
