I’m not going to lie, I have pretty much lived in workout clothes and jeans and sweatshirts for the past two weeks. I’ve mostly been working from home and prepping for and unpacking from the move. Essentially, I have been a hermit.
I have also been totally challenged, in a great way, by not spending money on new clothes. I started back in January and kept with it for the most part (I have only purchased this one sweater for the year!) As a blogger, it’s been extra hard to keep things fresh. But since I moved, I was also forced to go through everything I owned and I was rediscovering some old favorites. It inspired me to put together new outfits and it honestly feels like I just went on a massive shopping spree… even though I already owned everything!
Highly recommend! (Maybe not the moving part, haha, but thoroughly going through what you already have.)
I forced myself to go through my button down shirts because I had way too many. The few that definitely made the cut? The Shirt by Rochelle Behrens. These shirts are magic. It has hidden buttons to make sure there is zero gaping. The result is a perfectly tailored shirt. They work tucked in for a more business-look or untucked, like here, when you’re going for something more casual.
Guys, I pulled out a headband to tie in the tortoiseshell clutch and I kind of forgot about how much I love them. Especially during the dry months, my hair gets super staticky and having it away from my face means I’m not touching it as much and it doesn’t get that crazy-mad-scientist look.
Speaking of hair, I’ve been using the 1.5-inch barrel in this set and I’m obsessed with the curl. Just enough to get some body without committing to a full curl!

I read your first paragraph, looked down to see what I was wearing, and it was almost comical. Today was the second big snow and I planned to stay inside all day. I stayed true to my plan. And also stayed in my pyjamas all day. The same went for the first big snow last Friday haha. // Since I moved away for college, I don’t have super old clothes lingering in my closet, but I do sometimes notice an item or two in my wardrobe getting less love than the others. Once in awhile, I like to pull out these old clothes out of my drawers and display them in my open wardrobe to remind myself to wear them 🙂 // Your hair looks so beautiful and healthy! -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey’s
Love the casual outfit, the touch of the vest is super cute! I get what you mean by resisting to get more clothes… I need to do that more and not be tempted by all the sales! 🙂

I love The Shirt! I have it in a Liberty print and it’s the most flattering button down I’ve ever owned. I love this plaid version too, you look beautiful! xAllie http://www.theallthatglittersblog.com
Such a great classic look! I love the headband too- I might have to search for some of mine I have tucked away 🙂

Thanks for sharing the shirt. I’m always on the look out for button downs that don’t gape and that I can wear to work or to brunch!

I absolutely love this outfit! I’ve been looking for dress shirts without a gap and love that it comes in a gingham pattern!

Do your curls stay in without a problem after a 1.5 inch barrel? Or do you maybe have some tricks for making them stay? If I curl with anything over 1”, it falls flat after 10 minutes :/
Love this outfit on you, Carly! I love that it’s put-together yet still ready for whatever the day brings!

Katie
