I want to make everything in this post! Maybe I’ll just have to hole myself up in the kitchen and make everything for myself. What a feast that would be. ❤
What to Cook for Valentine’s Day
Guest post by Louisa from Living Lou
Hate it, or love it, Valentine’s Day is coming up, and no matter how you’re celebrating, whether it’s with a romantic dinner at home, a girls night watching your favorite romantic comedies, or just a regular evening at home, I have the perfect recipe for you. And don’t just think about dinner and dessert, what’s stopping you from surprising your love with a romantic Valentine’s breakfast?
For Valentine’s Day breakfast…
Crepes are one of my favorite things to make for breakfast, they are so easy and making a simple raspberry sauce to serve alongside makes this extra special.
Cheesy Truffled Scrambled Eggs
Do you know how to elevate scrambled eggs? Pick up a tiny bit of a truffled cheese at your local market. I promise it will take breakfast to the next level.
Macerated Strawberries with Yogurt
Simple and delicious, macerated strawberries will start your day with the perfect red touch.
Recipes for a special dinner…
There’s just something about a fresh risotto that feels special, don’t you think? I took my favorite mushroom risotto recipe and added a little bit of spinach.
Maybe not the most romantic, but I can’t help but think of that famous scene from Lady and the Tramp.
Homemade Pasta with Salmon and Asparagus in a Rose Sauce
If you really want to go for it, this is the recipe for you. Homemade pasta with a simple sauce inspired by one of my favorite dishes to order when I go out for Italian.
The perfect dessert…
Is there anything better than truffles? I’d argue that these homemade truffles are definitely better. If you’re going to make this recipe, start a day ahead of time because they require 2-3 hours of time to chill in the fridge.
I mean if it’s not chocolate on Valentine’s Day, what’s the point? These homemade peanut butter cups are so good and would make such a cute surprise gift.
Dark Chocolate Brownie Affogato
This is one of those special desserts with multiple components—dark chocolate brownies, vanilla ice cream, and espresso. Naturally, it’s one of my absolute favorites.
Ah, thank you for the delicious recipes, Carly! 🙂 They all sound so good and perfect for Valentine’s Day this working Wednesday! ❤️

My husband and I made Spaghetti and Meatballs together a few years back on Valenitne’s Day. It was so sweet working in the kitchen together. He slaved over the meatballs and I covered the sauce.
The spaghetti and meatballs is such a cute idea! I don’t think I’ll have time to cook since Valentine’s Day is on a Wednesday, but definitely will be doing that another year!
