I hate when people start off posts with apologies, but I have to do it here. My top and shorts in today’s post are both sold out. I’m sorry that I didn’t get this post up sooner! (This is also my last Paris post, so if you’ve been annoyed by those, this is it!) The top is available in two other colors (light blue and navy), and the shorts are still available in three colorways/prints.
*Update! Thank you, Ashley, for letting me know that the shorts are available at Nordstrom!!! You can buy them here!*
I highly recommend both, especially together, even if it’s not the same combination of this outfit. The crop top is sold under the party collection, and it’s recommended to go with a skirt to make it look like a dress. But on its own? It’s the perfect top to wear with anything high waisted. I always find tucking shirts into skirts, shorts, or pants to be so bothersome. Especially with my larger chest and smaller waist, I always end up feeling like the look isn’t all that flattering. This little crop top solves that problem!
I hope they bring the top back again, maybe even in more colors. I love that you can dress it up or down.
And, look how cute the back is too with the buttons. It gives it a great fit.
I channeled my inner Kate Middleton with Superga sneakers. I read that sales for the sneaks have doubled since she has been spotted wearing them more and more.
Oh, and my Longchamp tote? Best decision. This is the actually the first Longchamp I ever purchased. I had just graduated high school and was shopping with my friend when I bought it. It was a very big purchase for me back then, and I’m proud to say it’s held up so nicely over the years! (Seriously, that was nine years ago.) As I was packing, I was debating on which bags to bring for my trip and threw in my Longchamp as a backup. It folds up perfectly, so it takes up nearly zero space. But… I ended up carrying it pretty much every day. It fits everything I needed and zips up to keep my belongings safe.
I normally feel super casual whenever I wear a pair of shorts. This was not the case with this outfit, even with sneakers!

Oh! And I bought myself a little souvenir while I was in Paris: a Hermes clic clac bracelet. I had wanted one for a while and felt like “When In Rome” or, um Paris.

I love the way you paired these tops with the shorts. Really shows off the scalloped edges! 🙂

They have the lovely shorts in ALL sizes on Nordstrom!! That’s where I ordered mine 🙂
THANK YOU!
What a perfect summer outfit!
Carly this outfit it so sweet and cute! Paris really suits you 🙂 I also love how fresh faced your makeup is in these photos! Are you wearing the Bobbi brown art stick mentioned in your recent tutorial?
I have 2 Longchamp purses (both I found at estate sales for around $15! I have a cross body and the one in your picture. One even had the tags still on!!!) Truly the best purse to travel with because it can totally accommodate my big Canon camera when I don’t want it around my neck! Agree – would recommend that bag! Darling look on you!!!
I love cropped tops with high waisted pieces. I don’t have a flat tummy so I won’t be wearing them with low-raise jeans any time soon… Tucking tops in is annoying for me too, especially when the top is really long because it takes a while to get it all in properly without any ugly bumps.
Have a wonderful Sunday, Carly!
Oh my gosh, I’m so glad I’m not the only one who struggles to make tucked-in shirts look flattering– it looks so cute on some people, but for me, my chest just kind of tents out the top and makes me look bulkier all over than I am. I’ve never thought to “cheat” by wearing a crop top instead, thanks so much for the tip!
I totally agree with you about crop tops and shorts. It is so hard to make them not look super casual. The shorts and shirt look so cute. I think I need to get them for myself!
Hi Carly, what size did you get for the crop top? It comes in regular/petite/tall. I am 5’6″ and have a longer torso so was thinking of getting the regular.
Also sorry, what number size did you get? Normally for tops I am a 00 or 0 in J Crew sizing.
I got the regular 00!
Thanks so much!!
Such a cute outfit!! I absolutely love the tie waste shorts with the crop top! Glad to hear you like your Longchamp, I have been looking into getting one!

This outfit, I’m in love!!! It just looks 100% effortless but so detailed and nuanced and femme too. <3
Okay maybe a stupid question but do you wear socks with your superga sneakers?? Also do you find that they run true to size? Reviews online are all over the board!

And for sizing, I found the size chart to be accurate!
Hi Carly!
I was recently in Tampa and stopped for lunch at Pane Rustica after reading your post about your favorite places around the city. Thanks so much for the recommendation, it was amazing!
Many crop tops aren’t flattering or classy, but this seems to be both! What a great find!

rue Crémieux might be my favorite street in the world 🙂 So darling!!
Carly girl, this look WORKS for you! It’s completely flattering and fun. I also love your hair this way! So effortlessly wavy and soft.
Ah, so I have those shorts in pink and the chambray and the top in that Liberty floral print actually 🙂 hehe. I need a tutorial re: how to make the bow on my shorts look as perfect as yours! So pretty, Carly!
